    40 Ford Kustom

thanks for the kind of world guys ! No engine in this, as i only make curbsides models...and the 47 dash had to be shortened to fit ! i believe you can find one already shortened in RMCM's catalog...
  2. That's a sweet kruzers Lyle ! the bump on the trunk is a kool feature...i like it ! I don't know why, but i love metallic blue 40's ! Ps : I may be a fool, but i don't see any of Rik's features ? can you tell me what he had changed ? I know he's the guy for subtility and to say the truth i havent notice anything on his coupe before i saw the changes process on his fotki...

    40 Ford Kustom

Here are pics of a 40 Ford kustom i've just finished ... Build to look like it would have been build circa '47 : top chop, hardtop, shortened side trim, 47 ford bumpers with tailites in the guards, fender skirts from amt 39 ford sedan kit, white walls and caddy sombreros from Modelhaus... 47 ford dash and sterring wheel , tuck n roll done with evergreen v-groove hope you like it

    Badillac

some news.. I lenghtened the fins just a bit ... I wanted to keep the glass from chezoom, so i needed to rescribe the doors. For that, i used the shape of the door from a 56 t-bird patterned on masking tape .... before : during : and after : for that result ...Baaaaaad ! hope you stil like it !

    Badillac

Thank you Jaffa ! As you can see on the previous pics, i was thinking of keeping the stock chromed bumpers, but they don't look very realistic...think they gonna ruin the look ! :? But, i really like the look of the rear well well that end in the rear bumper in sort of bumperettes, so i choose to us the rear bumper welded to the body, as a roll pan and then building a front roll pan too ... i glue the bumper on the body, and sand the license plate holder smooth.. man, it look kinda odd, something just don't work ... let slim it with a saw... some sanding, putty, sanding...and a recessed license plate now, let's go for a matching front end ! : 8) the roll pan from amt 58 Chevy had the shape i want but ... d'oh ! too short ! :? no problem, two roll pan would do the trick ! 8) ok, now, let's apply body filler, and prime ... start taking shape !

    Badillac

After seing Bill Stillwagon's Sharkillac, a Revell '57 Cad with chezoom roof grafted on, i was so impressed that i've found that that roof would be a great idea to save the goofy heller '58 Caddy i've bought a few months ago for a buck on e-bay... looks kool huh ?
  10. Wow ! this is wild ! That baby will look great on angel hair !
  11. One piece bumpers are a really kool feature on kustoms. In real you need to remove the guards that are bolted on, weld the three pieces together, and then rechrome... At our scale thing are not so easy ... :? Behind the guards there is no material, so when you remove them, you find two big holes, and whatever you try to do, the result is very fragile, and sanding smooth some thing that always crack is very frustrating ! The way i do need two part molds knowledge, but if i can, then every body can ! As you can see from behind, that shoebox bumper had very deep holes behind the guards... What i do first is to put some modeling clay in the hole, like this : then i make a resin copy of it... Now you can sand it smooth, it won't crack !
  12. I can hardly see the skull..do you have bigger pics ?
  13. Norm's casting, but Lyle's master !
  14. Looking good ! ...more than good ..looking kool ! Man, we need more pics of that baby ! keep them coming ! 8) I love those bumpers...don't know exactly why...
  15. That Merc looks great ! someone had to offer it in plastic...for less than 80 bucks !
  16. Man, that kemp's got an attitude ! I think the light on the hubcaps are from the dummys...and that's why they're mounted that way... yes, i do know why they're calles dummys
  17. can't wait to see that baby finished !
  18. Welcome on board Jeff ! That Buick-esque grille is one kool idea ! Too bad you don't keep the chrome on the bumpers... Feel free to post pics of your in progress Merc and Buick !
  19. Thank you !
  20. Thanks for sharing Lyle That Merc is sick ! This is exactly why i've bought the '59 Imperial from model king....the grille ! Now i really know how it 'll look good ! 8) can you tell me who made that kool kustom ? The Buick also seems to be some neat baby to come... Ps : the red on your '57 looks perfect under that light ! she looks gorgeous ! For me it just need some satellite or diamond tailites to complete the look !
  21. Thanks for sharing Lyle ! Those 56 Lincolns makes me crazy ! Do you know witch resin caster is that? or may be it 's the original kit ?
  22. Some little news about the 40.... It seems that the chop was too heavy for a real early taildragger, :? so now i'm trying to do a circa 50's one ...no big deal, just some changes in the accessories :caddy sombreros, '48 ford bumpers with tailites in the guards.... Just made a real simple paterned tuck n roll interior with V-groove and enlarged the side windows to make it look more "natural"
