  1. I got the Pete as soon as it hit the shelf, and had an old box from an ancient LN-8000 city delivery...so i shortened the box, frame, and bed, moved the axles forward, and dug out an old Great Dane extendable trailer from ages ago. i cut it down a bunch and fitted it into the box. Now you open the door, imaginary hydraulics push the bed out and it becomes a loading ramp; then you crank the inner ber back inside using a '34 pickup towing boom winch and some thread...it works! This is the Black Widow racing team rig, with the Black Widow Allison-powered digger in back. The "mock-up" model is a Slingster streamliner but was replaced later with the Widow. I got this idea from Googling Tommy Ivo's rigs.
  2. Thanks bro'! I was afraid i posted this in the wrong place once i discovered "Under glass" . Now I know!
  3. I always wanted to build one of these, and they re-issued it, however I had to get both the C-600 and LN-8000 kits to do it. I decided to open the big door on the side, and while looking at dollhouse furniture, decided to make a full-service rest room instead of a "parts room". Nobody else has one like it; hot and cold running water, sink, urinal, toilet, towel rack, mirror, Persian rug, posters on the walls, working light ( a doll house ceiling fixture ) powered by a 9-volt battery, everything's plumbed and the idea is you arrive at the track with the supply tank empty, fill it there, turn on the water heater, open the valve, and there ya go, full service. After the race and you wash your hands, drain the main tank and go home. The car on the back is a Predicta with a Willys chassis and engine, '57 T-bird windashield and top.
  4. I started with the Race Car hauler kit, but used the hauler body on another truck. I had an idea; shorten it, chop it, lower it, put '36 Ford hood side louvers in the truck hood, put on twin blowers and gasser style exhaust, 28" jada wheels, scratchbuild a stake bed using some ramp parts from an old Thrill Drivers '49 Merc kit, among other parts box goodies and eyeball engineering. This was fun to build, and i usually don't build trucks. Now I am planning some more..
  5. All I had left from the old AMT '33 sedan ws the body and the frame. Everything else you see is from the parts box, like '40 Ford front axle, 9-inch Ford rear on coils, and the engine and wheels from the tommy Grove funny car. Just a "parts bomb". The louvers in the top are from a 1/16 scale Model A hood side panel grafted in.
  6. I would assume these would only go in a straight line...most of the time.I had to delete a few to enable more posts of other stuff.
  7. I got the Paddy Wagon for being a charter member of the collector's club...so I decided to build it with the wheelbase stretched one (real, not scale) inch and a flathead mill from the '32 sedan. The exhaust is 1/16 solder with two caps from Testor's liquid cement So far so good. "Edelweiss Police" is a nod to Leavenworth.
