  1. Thank you kindly for the info...I did what you said and now I think I figured it out. I am new here, and obviously way too exuberant...I should know that no file on earth can contain everyone's posts...I didn't realize how huge this thing is, and will maintain my voracity henceforth! Thanks again, bro's...ignorance on my part is NOT bliss; the rules need to be followed. Roger that.
  2. I used a lot of the Revell custom Merc parts, like the lowered suspension, body parts, '56 Chrysler wheels, and a 302 from a '32 Ford kit.I wanted to use the louvered hood with the rounded corners, but the bodies are different at the cowl.
  3. I am not sure if it is even worth saying...but I have downloaded many photos so far,in a few days. Today, however, when I try to post anything, it tells me the file is too large...so i set the camera at the lowest quality, smallest resolution...and yet still, i cannot load anything else...using the SAME camera as yesterday, same settings, yet it will not work. I am not used to giving up, but apparently this site decided it does not like me any more???? Dang, I only had about 800 more models to post....oh well, they are all on Facebook under Stephen Barone so if you want to see more of my work, apparently you have to leave this site and go to Facebook. It works most of the time and likes my file size..
  4. Ever wonder if a flathead would fit in a Meyers Manx? It does.
  5. Ever wonder if a Corvair six would fit into a Karmann Ghia??? Well, it does...and the hood shuts!!

    BugRat!

Ever wonder if a Corvair six fits in a Bug!!! Well, it does, with a little trimming here and there!! The paint is simply the pink body masked, and shot with flat black.
  7. I never considered a stock one, but I had several of these kits including a delivery van...but I just could not build them stock.
  8. I love that paint!!! And by the way, bro', I found five different sets if wire wheels for your Chrysler!!!!
  9. Somebody told me long ago that the '32 Chevy kit in any variation was quite rare...I wasn't aware of this so once i found out, i built three, and have one more unbuilt kit left. The sedan delivery is very rare and valuable, I was told, so I pro-streeted it. One roadster is a street rod, the other is a gasser with a 409. I love to make collectors angry.
  10. I had this old JoHan lark in the junk box for many years, and decided to rebuild it with a Trans Am chassis, blown 350 and '32 Ford wheels. I opened the hood of course, and used a lot of the trans Am parts underhood.
  11. These Minicraft kits are difficult, with multi-piece bodies and opening doors...hard to chop, so I glued them in. Also shortened the bed, z'ed the frame to lower it (hence the box in the bed for clearance), bobbed the fenders and painted it Testor's green lacquer. The only funny business is the front wheels...they look awkward, and there could have been a better exhaust, or I could have made one, but it is done.
  12. I liked the basic kit, but modified it a bit with a Charger hemi, wheels and other bits, extended the frame a bit, chopped the top, and there ya go.
  13. This is my Gasser Celica, using a few pieces from a '41 Willys, Monogram '55 Chevy and a blown 350..
  14. I wasn't expecting such a response! Thanks, bro's...and by the way, I have been called "Bonehead" ever since my rock and roll past...I had a 1971 Fender Telecaster, mint condition, and around 1997 I was playing at a pig roast party...drank almost a whole fifth of Yaegermeister, and saw a hammer on the stage...so i grabbed the hammer and started doing "hammer-ons"....with a real hammer! The next practice day when i pulled the poor thing out of its case, several strings were broken, and the neck was full of hammer dents making it impossible to play ever again...and the drummer looked at it and said, "YOU BONEHEAD!!!".....and It stuck. I had the Tele rebuilt, and now it NEVER gets played, just displayed. Now I use a 2004 Strat and a 2006 Gibson SG standard...two replaceable workhorses not worth near as much as that '71Telecaster....
  15. So you see, i got this Rustall kit...and the rest is history!!!! This is representing a car that was pulled from the bottom of Lake Chelan after fifty years of rusting and resting....or maybe the Columbia River....
  16. I wanted something different...and remembered i had a junked MPC Dodge van with the twin blown 360's in the back (the reason I saved this old turkey) and used the chain V-drive but with a twist...in the front is a hotted-up six...the idea is you drive to the track using the six, and once there, disengage the front motor and mash the gas on the twin 360's for a quick 1/4 mile, then switch back to the inline for the ride home.
  17. This idea came from out of nowhere...i just started cutting and whacking away and ended up with this eyeball-engineered rod. A lot of parts like the wheels, engine and other bits came from the Slingster; all the rest came from the parts box or scratched, like the radiator and shift linkage. The stake bed is totally from scrap; the hnge is small aluminum tubing with music wire inserted.
  18. This is a Lindberg (formerly Pyro) 1/32 scale "fas-back" that I got as a Christmas present...so I had to build it. I dug out some old Monogram 1/32 kits, and used the wheels, tires, suspension and engine from the Nova kit. Those old Monogram super-detailed small scales do not exist any more, and that's too bad as any of those old Pyro/Lifelike?Lindberg 1/32 scale kits can be made very cool with a little work and imagination.
  19. The side openings are filled with clear sheet plastic! This is not quite like Tommy Ivo's Dodge, but the idea came from that rig.
  20. I added about 1 inch of frame rail right between the rear kickup and the rar crossmemeber! Easy-peasy.
  21. This issue, as anyone who gets one will see, has many options, as it has included (to the best of my memory) just about every part the original issue had, except for it is a roadster instead of the chopped coupe body, which is also available chopped or not depending on the issue...so it is definitely a worthwhile purchase. Also anyone who ever built the Fruit wagon or this one here, knows that either the rear box needs to be shortened, or the wheelbase extended. It looks absolutely stupid built right from the box without any mods. Still, a great kit...and if you use the stock T chassis and fenders, the paddy wagon body actually looks good. AND you can use the C-cab with the stock pickup box as well. There are many variations possible here!.Curiously enough, they include tri-carb manifold with heads molded on, or separate heads with a six-carb log, and the Latham blower. Many parts to be used elsewhere, just like the old kits.
  22. Thanks for the comments. I must admit that dusting these things is totally a monster job. Some of them are very old, and have endured several moves involving packing many big boxes with layers of towels between layers of cars. Some damage usually happens...and since they suffered through a lot of dust, kitchen grease, carbonated beverage spots from the kids' partying and the like, after the last two moves, many of the older ones did not get cleaned and have a velvet-like coating that only comes off with a soft rag and a bit of soap and water, then a polishing. i am guilty of getting old and lazy. Also years ago, the ex said, "when are you going to quit playing with those toys?" I replied, "When I'm dead". She divorced me in 1995 and that is when the collection REALLY exploded and continues to expand...and collect dust! I could use a cleaning lady but only if she knows (or wants to) how to handle fragile old models!, Or a fragile old cranky plastic addict. I am doubtful and reluctant to change, and do not know of any female who would put up with the entire house decorated in automotive and aircraft scale replicas. Each and every one, down to the last mediocre example, are my babies.
  23. I finally figured this thing out!!!
  24. hey guys...this is sure a user-friendly site, better than others I won't mention. i have been building and collecting all types of scale replicas since i was 6...and just turned 63. I worked in a hobby shop for manyyears, and thus collected many kits over the years...sold half of them to finance my house...and still have 1500 left. the display area has over 900 built models and i am out of room. The photos show what used to be a "dining room" but now is all shelves. I started building very young; my first 3-in-1 was a 1960 Ford...I was super happy when AMT redid it. I'm sure I won't die with the most toys, but I have a few. Note the photo dates; i have added many more since then!!! And my bedroom has several more shelves [acked with finished cars,, and the walls are covered with over 5,000 Hot Wheels
  25. When the chrome tanker was reissued, I dug out this very old and probably rare Astro 95 with the turbine engine option. I could not think of a better tractor for the tanker than this old gem. Sorry the pictures aren't the best...the thing is so big it is hard to photograph with a cheap camera!
