  1. Thanks! And yes indeed, too much motor to be healthy for you, but that's what it's all about!
  2. I actually have about 24 scale mm's of ground clearance to the frame rails..
  3. I suppose I do, haven't really thought about that before! Thank you very much
  4. Turned out very nice, love the color!
  5. Finished 31st of October 2015! Under glass thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/107397-low-rat-rod-finished-31-october-2015/
  6. I finished my 1930 Ford Coupe yesterday morning, with 40 minutes left before I was going to the modelshow, and today I shot some pics of it!
  7. So I got the build done 40 minutes before I was going to BUCK.. Here are two pics I snapped of it at the show! Considering how short of a build time this was and how much scratchbuilding and such was involved, I'm very pleased with the result. Will be doing a proper photoshoot tomorrow if the weather plays along.
  8. Tom- Thanks for the input, I might do a little more on the body later on, I unfortunately don't have the time to do any more now, the model show I'm attending starts in just over 24 hours.. Jim- Glad you're liking the build! Got a little bti of work done yesterday. The interior is done, and I made a gastank, which is seated between the frame rails. Interior is made up of two bucket seats from the parts box, the original Monogram dashboard, the steering wheel and rack from an AMT Ford Mustang '66, gearshifter is from the parts box, and the pedals are made by me. And the gastank, its made out of rolled up 0.5 mm styrene sheet along with a small piece from the parts box.
  9. Got some more work on the rod today. It's starting to look pretty good actually! Still just a mock up, but it's not much left to do. Considering I haven't really done any weathering on this scale before, I'm very satisfied with the way it turned out! The mesh which is replacing the windows are actually pieces of a trashcan from Ikea btw, which I've just painted black!
  10. Thank you Al, I'm very sastisfied with it considering it's my first time doing scartchbuilding like this. Kerry, thank you very much! I'm thinking about evolving the car later on with some beefier wheels, but since I have a very short amount of time to finish it (It's going on a show on saturday morning and I can only work with it on evenings...), I've decided to settle on these wheels!
  11. Some more done since last time. Today I have three days left to finish the car, but I have school every day... Finished the rear suspension brackets. Added an extra crossbar for the frame too. And got some grey paint on the frame and underside. I've added some weathering too. And painted the rear end and made some airbags out of a pair of airplane wheels. Also rebuilt an electric fan from the parts kit to fit the radiator. And actually got some paint on the body too. Not the best finish but I think it'll do, but I think that with some wetsanding and some weathering it's going to look good enough for a rat rod... Note that the paint is a lot darker than the photos show. I'll try to get a good pic tonight after school.
  12. It turned out great Thomas, nice job!
  13. Cool build, and seems to be a simple but really good looking kit I'd say.
  14. That hood ornament looks really nice. Cool build!
  15. Working on the rear suspension and most likely making something that doesn't work at all in real life.. But I think it looks alrigh at least. I'll be going for an airbagged setup in the rear and I'll be starting on the bags soon. Currently making the inner pair of brackets on the rear axle and the chassis. Got some use of my second hand today too. And the pair of suspension arms. Made out of three layers of 0.5 mm styrene and sanded to look like circular pieces. Mocking up the rear end. Still got the inner pairs of brackets on the rear axle and on the chassis to make.
  16. Love the rust on the body, very nicely done!
  17. Coming along really nicely! It reminds me a lot of this Ferrari powered Rambler... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6As--WJA8
  18. Looks good so far. At first glance I didn't like the LaSalle grill, but there's potential in it!
  19. Looking good so far, shame on the poor quality of the kit though!
  20. Nicely done! I'm thinking about doing something similar to my bench, beacuse, to quote Adam Savage, drawers are where things go to die...
  21. Glad you're liking it Jason!
  22. Nice work so far, the tank came out awesome and I like what you did with roof!
  23. Awesome build and very nice work!
