  1. Wanted to give an update on the body, much more to do on it. I keep having to sand out light imperfections, and the weather here is below the spec I should be spraying, but I'm almsot there to move onto the next phase of the body. I don't want to give away how I want this to look by posting a 1:1 reference picture. I snapped a shot this morning and the lighting wasnt great. Also have been working with the interior body tub, I would have thought since this 1/24 is slightly larger than the 1/25's I've been building that I'd have a more detailed interior, the all in one piece with the doors already molded into the tub was a bit awkward to do the detail. But it's coming along also.
  2. Got the tire and rims finished, moving on to the body Found a good yellow I like but it takes forever to dry. I like working with fast drying paints. But I'll have patience
  3. Quickly on to my next build since I had this kit sitting around. My very first real car was a 74 Satellite (4 door not hot rod), but as a kid I remember the car across the street. Yellow road runner, and I can only somewhat still visualize it. But I want to build this GTX as a tribute to that memory, I do remember a black top, so I'll play around with that also.
  4. Thanks guys. Can you elaborate on this one? Did you mean not filling in the line? Yeah I did miss that.
  5. I wish the GTX kit had that hood with it. I'm looking to build the same GTX with the same hood swap you used from the monogram kit. Can't even find that satellite kit (2213) available anymore with that hood.

    64 GTO

Nice relic work..I'd like to learn some of those techniques.
  7. Thanks guys, finished this one up today, posted in the finished section.
  8. 2nd build finished. AMT 1970 1/2 Camaro Z28 1st two builds together
  9. Thanks Guys Tom, the interior is Modern Desert Sand, guess you can call it an off white, and the flocking color is tan. Here's another shot of the interior that may show some better lighting.
  10. Finished the majority of the interior today. I'm approaching the end of this build. NOt sure if I'm going ot add seat belts or not yet.
  11. Great work on the dash. +1 for the awesome color also.
  12. Added in the front suspension, aged it a little with some slight surface rust on some of the members.
  13. I've been working on the engine lately. Tried to keep the colors pretty stock and gave it a slight dirty look. Ready to be dropped in.
  14. Thanks, well, I'm a 2nd timer right now, used EZ chrome on my first build. BMF goes down easy and finds the contours easier for you to run your razor through.
  15. Thanks Corey! Today was a pretty productive model day. Got the foil all done on this. BMF was definitely 10 times easier to work with than that EZ chrome I had before.
  16. Thanks, yeah, I like the color too. installed foil and head lights, will tackle the main foil trim next.
  17. OK finally got the paint finished and decals applied. I just need a protective clearcoat and polish before getting to the BMF. Hope with the stripping I didn't remove too much of the plastic trim lines for guides.
  18. Awesome build and pictures, almost look like Chip Foose drawings.
  19. Haven't updated much on this because the first trail of paint was a disaster, and I destroyed the black rally stripe decals. So, I'm in the process of striping the body. SO, I'm left with a set of white decals, and I changed my mind on original color. I'm going with this: QUESTION: When putting on the large stripe decal which over laps the removable hood and front cap. When is the best time to make the cut on the decal. After is dries with a razor knife? I tried when it was just installed and didn't have good results.
  20. Those are very clean detailed rims you have there Scale-Master! I darkened the inner rim up a bit with a darker Steel paint I had, but not near enough to show the rim bezel contrast and don't have it shining like yours. I also sprayed a little clear over it. Guess I'll stick with this
  21. Would you foil the outer rim for that chrome? I considered the chrome darker look doing that, but just took the liberty of going with an aluminum rim. Hated how uncircular the plastic mold of the outer lips was. I smoothed out most of them.
  22. Thanks, I had some Rustoleum Aluminum spray paint, so that worked out well.
  23. Painted the rims and tire lettering (I may have to do a second pass of white over the letters). Also, might try a light blackwash on the rims.
  24. Thanks, that's an outstanding build, Jim! So, do you clear over the finished amber/red foil ?
  25. Excellent Job! Love the color combo also.
