I used 1/4" brass tube ,Cut your brass tube to whatever size you want, I used 6 mms for the length, then take a screw; you can use a deck screw or dry wall screw and a peice of flat metal ( mine was a curtain hanger flattened out). Now you slide your peice of tubeing onto the screw and screw into the metal peice into a scrap peice of wood the metal is there so you don't go into the wood and keeps your peice of brass flat , once you start screwing into the wood, the brass tube it will make a flange. You can also use a machine screw and a nut and make like a sandwich with the peice I didn't have the right machine screws so I just used the deck screw

Another off the bench and under glass this was a pretty fun build by the end I was pretty unmotivated to finish it due to running into issues with not letting primer dry long enough and putting heavy coats on to try and hide the window trim I messed up , I started but cutting the top and takeing out about 4mms, I dont have any putty or bondo so I decided to use my CA glue to fill, it worked for the most part but took a day to dry , once dried I sanded it flat , in the process I sanded down the ridge around the top that simulates the vinyl top to simulate that someone cut it out and filled it with sheet metal; this worked out great but in the process I also sanded off the drip edge and most of the window trim this is where I got very discouraged and just wanted to get it done. I scratch built the velocity stacks out of brass stock; ruined a few in the process but in the end I really know what im doing now lol , and the ingntion coil was made from soldier and some shrink wrap painted , I attempted to make the connections between the carbs and it looks alright but not anything like I was hopeing. For the most part this was a lot of new technics I was trying and some turned out better then others . Opionions and positive criticism are welcome hope everyone enjoys

I disregard my earlier statement in realizing what I was referring to was from years ago lol . But on another note that engine is looking sweet I should've looked at the dates and relized what I was posting to was from years ago LOL

Thanks a lot guys , I never thought of either tips for the trim but I may have to give the marker a try and see what I can make happen , I also have another R34 so the the next one I'll defianlty be doing the window trim
-
Thank you everyone

I was tossed on painting the trim or Leaveing it even thought about BMF but in the end I didn't want to run the risk of getting the black running all down the side LOL(would have made me sick) and didn't think BMF would have looked right so body color it stayed, I may paint the trim down the road and re gloss. The kit came with the metal transfer I thought it was going to be way more trouble then it was but litarly peel and stick , you may be able to get the same effect with some thin aluminum cut to whatever emblem and some white glue but would be a bit more challenegeing. I do agree this is the nicer body style of the skylines but just an opionon lol

This will be the first post; I've posted on this fourm , this was a pretty simple build due to it being a transkit but hey it still turned out great. The kit is Tamiyas Nismo R34 GTR Ztune. I went with tamiya's mica red TS39 for body color .The kit included a few metal transfer decals, this was my first time using them and I thought it would be a lot harder then it was, simply peel and stick ,put 3 coats of Tamiya's TS-13 clear(this was including mist coat) , haven't got around to polishing it yet I was happy with the gloss I achived, let me hear your guys opionon and thoughts on my final product I also have a few more of these tuners on the way as well as a rat rod on the bench

what you guys use to glue a model

I have one of those tips you speak of, I was talking to the guy at my hobby shop and I said that I noticed I got fogging on my parts when I used to much and he suggested the tips and gave me one to try so if I liked it I could grab a Baggie of them , I've still yet to try it but I imgine there as good an invention as sliced bread. I just went with the a little goes a long way advice and it's still sitting on my shelf for that special project that needs just that little bit of extra love -

Bsi tends to build up if your not carefull with your tip , those long flexi tips do work and can be used but as you said can be a pain , I find cut the tip as small as you need and just cut the tip back to it's original point once it cakes all up yes can be a pain but I like the fast set to it. -

I use BSI (bob smith industries)5 second,it's a purple bottle, it comes in a various of time sets extremely fast and longer also offers other lines of cements and apoxys. The guy at my local hobby shop recommeneded it said "only need the tinyest drop" and he wasent lying the stuff is great ive been useing it for about 3 years now and still on the first bottle I've bought almost out but I've bought another bottle to replace it when it runs out
