  1. Hi everybody sorry I haven't been on here in forever school has been crazy anyway here's my 1970 Challenger T/A. Paint is model master sublime green that I sprayed I'm my grandmas backyard, I'm happy with the results. The "340 six pak" decals on the side are from the Revell 1/25 kit, the ones in this kit were way too small. Paint on the hood is goofy krypton that went crazy on me so I still need to repaint the hood, and do the side marker lights. Overall this kit (it's the Monogram kit released around 1986) is excellent and is one of my all time favorites. I'm currently doing another one in Panther pink and hope to soon tackle a few monogram 'cudas. Feel free to ask questions and hope you like it!
  2. In this picture you can really see how much I changed the angle of the grille. Box stock it is almost straight up and down
  3. Sorry for the poor quality, here's a quick picture I just took with my iPad, picture from the kit box is shown with my modified front up above. Hopefully it is good enough to show my changes
  4. Thanks for the replies and opinions! I will try and post a side by side comparo once I get another one of these kits. I almost bought an original AMT '69 fairly cheap on eBay, but I figured I'd try fixing the revell one up first, because the majority of the kit is far superior. Those headlights are a disaster though...
  5. Messing around with my '69 cobra jet, I found that filing the edges of the grille round and thinning the upper chrome trim go miles toward giving this mustang a better face. After thinning the top chrome edges, I tilted the whole grille forward at more of an angle. I know there is a resin fix for this but this was a free modification that really helped IMHO. I still have yet to install the lights (I'm going to omit the oversized chrome rings), I'm happy to answer any questions. Now if only I could take care of those droopy headlights... I'd love to hear others opinions, let me know what you think!
  6. I love this...you can't beat those 4cyls...your project is amazing I always wondered if those 3d printers could be used for models... I'll be watching this one closely!
  7. Painted the wheels today, left the rims chrome to represent the popular "beauty rims" Also white lettered the tires. Also attached is a pic of the undercarriage after some paint. I didn't prime the underside--big mistake
  8. It's not as bad as it sounds, some detail is lame and the motor is TERRIBLE I'm not a super experienced modeler and the only thing I find concerning is the rear bumper and front pan fit. Mpc usually has really accurate bodies, so I think this goat will build into a decent looking model
  9. THANK YOU for confirming my suspicions, in a test fit I noticed it was WAAAYY to wide, I will try chopping mine down
  10. Building the infamous MPC '72 goat and needless to say, it's been an adventure. Painted up the body after shaving off lots of rough edging and flash, cut the hood scoops open and smoothed out hood edges. I filled in the two sink marks in the trunk, though there is still a faintly visible putty lump (I use nitro-stan for real cars). I primed the body with rust oleum and painted with testors metallic blue (pretty close to factory "Lucerne blue") white lettered the tires and painted the black interior and wheel detail. Just started foiling, and I hope to have more pics on the way now that I got my iPad squared away!
  11. Great work! I love detailing snap-kits. Very Nice job on the raptor!
  12. Neat color choice, I love the foxes!
  13. Hate to be off topic but I saw your monogram svo in green on your site and phenomenal job on that puppy!
  14. Nice!
  15. Thanks for all the good replies! Better pictures will come once I wrap up my revell '69 Mach 1
  16. Thanks for all the welcomes, impalow I'm not sure but yes I love neons
  17. Looking great and your seat idea is amazing! I love the '71 satellite
  18. Just wrapped up this Monogram Cobra (I think it's around a 2000 release). Anyway paint is rust oleum from a can (hence some speckles and imperfections), interior is a combination of testors paints and more rust oleum "satin granite". Filed down the rear bumper, gave it a sliding sunroof (my first home made sunroof, I'm pretty happy with the results), painted the tiny white mustang letters on the rear side windows, trimmed real springs and fit over pegs underneath to add shock detail. I still have yet to do the wheel centers. Hope you like my 'Stang! Oh I apologize for the poor quality pics I just used my iPhone 3 out on the front porch--they make the car look terrible--better pics coming soon.
  19. Hi I just joined this forum, there's some great models on here! as for me I'm a mopar guy but I still enjoy a good mustang here and there, and maybe sometimes a civic or integra. I also collect vintage motorcycles (the full size ones...), I've been riding bikes and building models my whole life. My favorite kits are definitely monogram from the '80s, I'd love to hear other peoples opinions on these 1/24 scale beauties. So that's a little about me and hello everybody!
