  1. Just checking to see if there are any modelers here in Thailand. I'm a retired American living here 8 years now. Thanks.
  2. Very nice. I did one in 1/32 and it made me crazy. Yours is much nicer.
  3. Thanks for all the tips guys. Yes, it is hot & humid here in Thailand. , but the paint is locally made and I think mixed for these conditions. Good quality too, I might add and only about $1.30 a can. However that's the only bargain to be found in the hobby here...LOL>
  4. When you acrylic laquer rattlecan 2 tone paint, how long to you wait after the first color to dry, before you mask off for the second color?
  5. Thanks for all the responses. I have purchased a 52 & 53 Olds from Dave. There were a couple of questions and a couple of issues. Dave was quite responsive and seem easy to work with. The car bodies look great. I'm new at resin. Only have done one other one.
  6. Does anybody have experience with MCW resin cars? They have a lot of hard to find body styles. Many of their kits are complete, no donor kit needed. How does their quality compare to others?
  7. Thanks for all the good ideas. Yes, espo...I'm not in Kansas anymore...Couldn't resist that sorry. Although I was stationed there for a year. Many items for the hobby are hard to find here in Thailand.. One problem is that the portholes are only 3" outside diameter...1/8 inch at 1/24. Now that I have some ideas, maybe I can find something on ebay. The Michaels pics give me ideas. Thanks to all.
  8. I need to make portholes like in the pic of this old ford. 1'24 scale. Any ideas?
  9. Hello Everyone, I am a born again modeler. I started building at about age 10 in 1955. Then when I got my first 1:1 at age 16, I forgot all about the models. After a life as an aircraft mechanic and auto mechanic, among other things, I retired a few years ago. I just started building again about one year ago.. Although I am American, I have chosen to retire to Thailand, where I have lived for 7 years. This makes getting kits, parts and supplies very difficult but not impossible. My main interest is cars of the 40's-50's. As a young mechanic I worked on many of these cars and subsequently drove them. Also cars of the 60-70's era, but I have less interest in them. I like to build bone stock, so the youngsters can see what these cars were actually like. I went through the customizing craze, both with models and 1:1 cars. But now I prefer original. It's all fun whatever you like. You all have advanced the hobby so far since I started as a kid. I can remember when the first 3 in 1 AMT kits came out.....maybe that was 1958. Thanks. Dennis
