I bought that kit just because of those articles. I was really impressed that a snap kit could look so good. I've bought a couple other Revell snaps since then, just for "fun" builds.

Good show! We don't see enough of that custom and rodded vettes from that era! The '60 thru '67 Vettes have always been my favorites.

Both great looking! Camaro is really gorgeous! Nice work.

Bill, The rear wheelwells are freehand. I used a washer for 3/4" bolt for my template and cut them with the back of an Exacto knife. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Got my next project off and running. It's a 60s style '55 Chevy Street Rod. I found this pic and just loved the look and stance, had a spare '55, so I decided to build it. It's going to have a 327 with a duel carb high rise coming through the hood. The 327 will be donated by AMT's '66 Nova kit, and the big and little Cragars Super Sport wheels will be donated by AMT's '68 Camaro kit. I am not going to run the headers behind the front wheels like in the picture, however. I've got her off to a good start: The paint is Testors Model Master White and Boyd's Smoothster Yellow. It laid down beautifully considering the heat and humity. This was the first time I have ever used Tamiya masking tape, and it looks like I've found a new friend!

Bill, Your '55 is looking great. My older brother had a '55 Crown Vick, and my brother-in-law had a '56 Crown Vick, but I was always more fond of the '55. You've done a great job on yours. I have had the same problem with the BMF, lately. The only thing I can account it to is thermal expansion and contraction. Aluminum has a TE of .00005 per degree in temperature X per inch. I've always kept my stored flat in it's own little space in my desk, and still this last sheet I bought, has done the same thing with the cracking. I've used the Detail Master and it was a nightmare for me. I have heard of some folks using a light weight kitchen foil and adding their own adhesive, but I refuse to go down that road. Maybe if enough of us complain to BMF about the situation, they'll look into it and fix the problem.

If you could only choose ONE photo of any of your builds, wich would it be?

Steef, That's really gonna look great when you get it finished. I look forward to seeing it! -
I started this '57 ragtop in 1997, working only now and then on it. It's getting down to the wire now. I have all the chrome stripped and ready to go to Chrome Tech USA, and can start finishing it when the chrome gets back.

Really like your Chevelle! Corvette tail-lights??

Nice work! That's a sweet looking Ford!

Some pics have disappeared from my orginial post after my storage crashed. I have tried to replace them.

Trixie is a model of a 55-57 Chevy, that a buddy of mine in high school built and drove in his senior year (1969). I don't remember the details of how he did it, but it was the sharpiest car in town. Trixie is an exact dupicate of the 1:1 car with the exception of the tires.

Wow! Everything about your gasser looks great! Under the hood detail just perfect. Good Job!

It's pretty much curbside, it does have a 327 in in but not detailed, these were actually the left-overs from my orginial build: My '55-56-57. But, basically, I measure where my cuts would be on both the 55 and 57 bodies as not to affect the wheel base, and the radius at the windshield so they would line up. Frank's Cut. The cut was between .080 and .100 parallel to the front door lines. After the cuts were completed, I cleaned them up, and tacked one side, then the other, then the top surfaces. I then re-enforce the joints with .010 thick sheet styrene strips, cut wide enough to cover both sides. When satisfied with that, welded everything with liquid cement. Then bondo went on to smooth out the joints. I've had a little practice: Trixie - my original, built in 1993. Actually found one of the pictures that Manners used for their promotion stickers. Had one on my bike, so I was thrilled when I Googled him and found that picture. He was also the voice-over announcer on "Americas Funniest Home Videos". At the height of his "Ghoulardi" career, he was actually more popular than Santa Claus.

All done! From this: To this: Hope you guys from NE Ohio appreciate the tribute to "Ghoulardi".

Your plans worked great! I bought the lumber and my buddy cut everything and assembled them. I have to hook up the light and vent fan this weekend on mine and it'll be ready to go! Thanks for posting the plans.

I'd hate for him to "light" me up! Very nice build!
