I like it. Nice job.

Johnny, May she have a speedy and complete recovery. I went through something similar earlier this year when my wife had a heart attack at 43 years old. Keep the faith and may the Good Lord smile upon you both.

That came out sweet! Great job on the chassis and rollcage. Did you put magnets in the wing to hold it on?

Nice! You could try white acrylic paint from the ceramic section of Michaels. It will dry on the tires and if you make a mistake, you can "chip" the offending area off with a toothpick or just wash it off in the sink and start over.

Evil...in pink? It does have a good look and a great stance. Nice job.

I have a hard enough time with regular body work. I like it!!!

MODELLSHOP IN VEGAS
Rich Cummings replied to Thor's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Let me know when you get into Vegas and maybe we can meet at SEMA. Sorry, I don't know of any Falcon owners here. How long are you staying in Vegas? -
The Las Vegas Kit Kruisers recently had a club project where members each built an '07 Shelby GT500 in different ways. We did this to show the public that one kit could be built in many different ways. The Kit Kruisers came up with 18 ways to build it. They were all displayed together along with an unbuilt but opened kit. I was chosen to build the NASCAR version. LVZ2881 built the drift version and posted it under glass here. I couldn't figure out how to build a COT out of this thing. I figured that it would be easier to build a modified out of it. I cut the front end off and radically trimmed a NASCAR Thunderbird frame to fit under it. I scratchbuilt the interior sheetmetal and rollcage. I bent up a front hoop to contain the motor and front shock mounts. The wheels are modified ASA wheels and I have no idea where the two back tires came from. The fronts are from a NASCAR and an Indy car. The front and rear bumpers came from the '34 Ford modified and the rear was altered with styrene rod. The side bars are square styrene and aluminum rod. This was one of those projects that I dreaded starting. Once I got going, it turned out to be a lot of fun and a great learning experience. It was also one of those projects that kept begging for more detail. Now for the going back on the workbench part. Two minutes after that picture was shot, I was moving the background and not watching the car. I managed to break the rear bumper, front end, an A arm and snap the rearend out of place. This car is supposed to be in the IPMS Best of the West show on Saturday. Can anyone tell me what I need to do so that my pics show up full size?

Model Work Areas
Rich Cummings replied to Scott H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is my work area. It's only neat because it is still being set up. My wife wanted her dining room and living room back. The unbuilt kits are stored in the closet out of her sight. -

That's great news. Those aren't just walk-in schools. My son got accepted into MMI and starts in August. Congratulations!!! -

Probably the easiest way to make the air cleaner removable will be to drill a hole in the center carburetor and insert a small length of wire. Then drill a hole in the air cleaner and trim the wire so that it sticks just above the top of the air cleaner. Now you just have to slide the air cleaner on and off the wire to show the carb. If your air cleaner has two wing nuts on it, then line the wing nuts up with which ever carb and put the pin in that carb.

Simply amazing as all your builds are. I'm in awe every time I see a new project from you.

Corpsevette....(Formerly Haulin' Hearse)New photos page 3
Rich Cummings replied to Custom Hearse's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Have you tried shortening the header pipes coming off the motor to bring the side pipes in closer to the body? Or do you want the pipes that far out? If you want it out a ways, how about a piece of thin sheet plastic from the top of the frame, bring it through that gap in the frame and then bend it into a half circle that will hold the pipe up from the bottom. Hope it makes some sense. Rich -
Nice looking car. Where did Hank Jr. put his beer?

My sentimental favorite would be the kit that kind of started it all for me. It was an MPC 1953 Ford pickup that my Dad and I built when I was in Cub Scouts a long time ago. We built to go on top of a cake that was auction off to raise some money. For some reason, I never forgot that kit. It was the only one my Dad and I built together. Last year I managed to find two of them and built one for him and one for me. He was surprised to see it again. Mine will be done soon. Neither of these have any real detail to them because I wanted them to just be clean builds of the way we built it.

can anyone tell me anything about this model?
Rich Cummings replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in WIP: NASCAR
Jeff, That is a one-time special paint job that was run at the 1997 Indianapolis race. It was driven by Chad Little. I don't know exactly how collectible or valuable the car is. As with everything, it just depends on how much it means to the collector.
