I know a few people find these posts a bit annoying, but it gives me and everyone else a good chance to show what we've built in 2017 all in one place. 11 from me this year, a mixture of new kit builds and glue bomb restorations on vintage models.

Thankyou David that's a very kind comment, and thanks for the info very interesting! , I had no idea if I had got this one anywhere near correct and funnily enough when I did a "Google " search most of the photos came back of cars with no light bars now I know why!. We don't see many Highway patrol cars over here in the UK !

I've had this kit in my stash for a few years now since its release, I've lost count of the amount of times I've opened the box to start it and then put it away again, in the back of my mind was the post relating to the roof issue that Revell got so wrong on this kit. Anyway I actually decided to build it as a police Highway patrol car, one of the options for the kit. For all its shortcomings this is actually a really good kit to put together, no issues whatsoever. More can be said for my two tone paint masking efforts.....not good and pretty untidy, but I'm pretty happy with the result and the addition of the light bar sort of detracts away from the chopped roof look.

Now this is shat I like to see!, glad it's not just me who loves to rebuild glue bombs.Fantastic work on the Monaco, looks absolutely fantastic. I've got two of these to do someday, one of them us extremely fragile !.

Thankyou Lee, the inserts are painted freehand with a contrasting paint

Well you know that I got my inspiration from a certain CCCP Digital Studio! Even in 1/25 this is a big car, it literally dwarfs most other models.

Thanks Mike, I'll correct that

Thanks David, the sinister look was what I was aiming for ?

For some reason I've had this one on and off the bench for most of this year. ..no explanations as it's a really nice kit. Decided to button it up 2 weeks ago, foiled the body and mistakingly threw away the front bumper and mirrors in the trash !. Not my best modelling moment for sure lol. Always wanted to do a full size early 60s Ford in black/red, came out really nice, spray can black on the body, cheap craft acrylics for the interior. Thanks to a couple of friends helping me out with parts I was able to finish it.

What would YOU like to see as a model

I traded this old Johan 69 AMX from a friend of mine (thanks Tommy), despite the look of it in the before photos it was a proper glue bomb and was a bit of a mess. First task after stripping it down was to repair the chassis which had broke in two...I did this trying to remove it. I did a bit of work on the body, the door shut lines were filled and rescribed and the original glass sanded and polished to look as good as I could get it. The bumpers front and rear were stripped and repainted with Spazstix mirror chrome, I used wheels from the parts box and painted the interior with cheap craft acrylics and embossing powder for the carpet. Body was painted with Halfords rattle can paint, buffed and polished.....no lacquer. It turned out great and I'm very happy with it, apart from finding out afterwards that the kit engine is wrong.....its an older AMC 327....oh well nevermind.

Absolutely superb build as always Peter, just goes to show how good these basic old screw bottom kits can look with a lot of talent and patience ! One question.....how did you do the posable steering ?

Beautifully done !

Thanks Ted I have to be completely honest, those wheels came from the parts box, they have definitely come from a 60s AMT annual kit but I can't remember which one sorry. The redlines are precut vinyl stickers from Vinyl Nation, but they are very tricky to put on !. Thankyou for the very kind reply
