  1. Another knockout model from the house of Lazzaroni, truly beautiful my friend, you are the master at showing how good these old AMT kits can be, great to see when you hear so many people bashing them saying they are not as good as Revell etc......yes they are !
  2. Hi all, it's been a while since I've completed a model, been very busy over summer so didn't get a lot of bench time in. Finished this one up today though. I got this one from a friend of mine it's an original AMT annual 67 Thunderbird, it was built as a sort of custom, custom wheels, lowered etc, and it had the wrong engine in it (a Dodge V8!). I stripped it down and carried out some repairs to the body, I decided to go for a plain black look with a monster V8 in it, I found a great looking ram inducted 427 in the parts box that slotted straight in, I painted the body with a rattle can and polished it out and found some period mags and redlines to complete the look. Bumpers were refinished with Spazstix, hope you like her, I'm happy with how it turned out. I've included a photo with how it looked before.......
  3. From a friend of mine over here in the UK, he had them in his loft !
  4. Got all these last weekend.......very happy !!
  5. Beautiful work !! Can you tell me a bit more about those headlamps, who makes them etc, they look fantastic
  6. Thanks for all the very kind comments guys, I do enjoy these restos even if they are a challenge lol !
  7. Another glue bomb restoration off the bench this year, just completed this Johan Olds Toronado. It was in a pretty sorry state when I got it painted green and the paint had etched into the body, the front suspension was all broken and I had to do a lot of work to even have something for the front wheels to attach too!. So after a lot of fabricating and filler work later. .....and anybody that's tried restoring an old Johan will know just how delicate the plastic is, anyway she's done, not added any aftermarket parts, just used what the kit would have had originally. I painted it with car spray paint and lacquer and fabricated a vinyl roof using the masking tape method. I'm happy with it and it's another one saved, hope you all like it too.
  8. Looks fantastic Frank, that New York police livery must be a paint masking nightmare !!
  9. Great work Snake !, I have a soft spot for the old Javelins I've never found a pre 70 one yet, especially over here in the UK !. Another car saved by the Glue Bomb Saviours !!
  10. Replicas and Miniatures thanks Ron, I was wondering who did a mid 60s 6 cyl.
  11. Beautiful build my friend !
  12. Here's my latest glue bomb resto, I love doing these .....I guess I just like the challenge of rescuing an old kit no longer in production. Apologies to those who have recently seen it in under glass.
  13. Thankyou for all the very kind comments !
  14. Do it !, just by your past work I can tell it would be an amazing model . Is the 6 cyl available in kit form anywhere ?.
  15. Beautiful !! What colour is that?, it's not one I recognise, not that I'm very knowledgeable about GM paint colours.
  16. A bit like this David ?
  17. Ha ha ! Snake that is actually a pretty cool name for a group, for all us mad guys who love to rescue these old wrecks !
  18. Plenty to keep you busy there Steve!. Look forward to seeing the 66 Bonneville especially. It was my 40th birthday last week and I treated myself to a 64 Grand Prix kit, it's one of my holy grail kits. And what a beautiful car it is.
  19. Absolutely outstanding Steve !, another masterpiece, I look forward to each and every one if your builds and this is something special I love those 1963/4 full size Ponchos
  20. Good work Snake !!, I couldn't get that lot done in 6 months let alone a week and I live on my own lol !.
  21. About 2 years ago I got a big box of old 60s built up glue bomb, amongst them was this original 1964/5 AMT Ford Mustang convertible. Now don't let the before photos trick you this thing was a bit of a wreck, it had custom parts glued all over it, paint about an inch thick and the parts were glued in with about 4 tubes of glue !. But I like a challenge so I set about stripping it down to see what I could work with, I purchased a cheap 66 Hardtop kit for parts. I had to cut out and replace the rear panel as the custom one was used, I modified the 66 seats to make them look a bit more like the 65 (not exact I know) again custom seats were used originally, the dash needed repairing as it had some weird custom single blade steering set up used. I also repaired as best as I could the windshield frame as the original was shot and broke in pieces trying to remove the original glass. I'll tell you now several times this thing nearly ended up in the bin! , but I could see it had slight potential. So after 6 months of work it's finally finished, I've painted it black with a rattle can and redone the interior in red/black, a very smart combination I think. I hope you like it, there is a post in the "general" section on why people restore glue bombs .....I just love to try and rescue these older rare models, I could never afford a mint untouched kit, and this one is far from perfect but I think it looks a lot better than it did !. Before photos
  22. Thanks guys, you've definitely answered my question there. To be honest the one piece 60s style chassis doesn't bother me at all, I have a soft spot for those old annual kits, time to search for an original 63 rebuilder maybe. The Revell kit is not really for me, I had one once and it just didn't have the charm of the original AMT if that makes sense.
