  1. I prime and paint the wheel, then I use a Xacto blade and carefully scrape away the paint/primer down to the bare plastic. I then use either a yellow or red Sharpie to color the stripe in.
  2. I guess I should have put this at the end of my reply... ?
  3. New Revell NASCAR Fusion kit, Powerslide decals over a flat black Tamiya paint. I lowered the car to reflect the no ride height rule for 2018.
  4. Got the chassis done and the final stance dialed in... should be done in the next night or two.
  5. The kit is decent... it had the typical Revell flaws... sink marks, fit issues, and the thickness of some parts is terrible. The kit has the red, white, and blue Le Mans livery inside. I used aftermarket decals because I am worn out on the standard livery and wanted something different.
  6. Been messing around with this for the past few weeks... Revell Germany’s new Ford GT kit. The decals are from Indycals. Here’s where I’m at....
  7. Wheels are done... I also got the glass installed in the body for a quick mock up.
  8. No, I am not coating this with anything. The real car is flat with glossy vinyl decals and that’s the look I want.
  9. Decals are all done. I was able to get them over the flat finish with minimal silvering.
  10. I understand that, but the decals on the real car are glossy and that’s the effect I want. If I dull coat over the decals I lose the gloss. I’ve been at this a long time... I know what I’m doing.
  11. Started this the other night. New Revell Ford Fusion kit with Powerslide decals. The car is flat black so I used Tamiya rubber black. The skirts were shot with Aztec neon green. I’ve been carefully cutting away the excess carrier film to minimize silvering of the decals.
  12. Finally done!! These decals are awesome... done by Powerslide and are a must have.
  13. Finally got the new Powerslide decals in for this. They are fantastic in every way! I’m hoping to have this wrapped up soon.
  14. It’s the 1/20th Scale Tamiya snap kit.
  15. Final, completed 1993 Texaco Havoline Lola driven by Mario Andretti at Phoenix. This was his final career win. Thanks for following along and for those who saw it down at the NNL Southern Nationals, I hope you enjoyed looking at it as much as I enjoyed building it!
  16. The fit is pretty good. The biggest issue that I had was the plastic. I’m guessing it’s the age, but it’s very brittle and I had a lot issues with the tabs breaking off. I had to glue a lot of stuff together, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. The kit decals were also unusable. I got the Shunko set and the Indycals sheet for the neon numbers.
  17. This will be headed to Atlanta with me next month. I used the Tamiya Lola snap kit and Shunko decals. Paint is all Tamiya, no clear, just polished out with Gravity polishes. I filled the seam on the lower nose too. I should have this wrapped up in the next week.
  18. Cleared with Gravity and polished out with the Gravity polishing kit. I can’t wait for the decals!
  19. I was going to keep this quiet until the Atlanta NNL, but I’m not good a keeping secrets! This will be DW’s 1993 Daytona car. I’ll be using the upcoming new Powerslide sheet. I modified the 89/92 Lumina to 93 specs using the Powerslide front/rear bumper set. The paint is Tamiya neon red, black, and white. I’ll clear this with Gravity tomorrow, wet sand, and polish, then wait on the decals. They hopefully should be in in a few weeks.
  20. Sorry, I do not recall. I know MCG makes a Lumina grille set though.
  21. I’m a fan of late 80’s early 90’s, the early 2000’s, and the newest kits.
  22. Here comes another masterpiece... but I’m confused. It’s not a Kyle Petty Pontiac?
  23. Outdoor shots to show how the neon pops.
  24. Looks terrific Clay!! So cleanly done! Perfection!!
