  3. Nice, sharp, clean build!
  4. Excellent work!
  5. The man is amazing...he could take a 1/72 F-14 Tomcat and convert it into a 1/25 '69 Camaro, and it will be the best model of that car ever made...
  6. I was on the Brooklyn waterfront. I watched the second plane hit. I watched both buildings come down. Like Jay, I was stunned at the way New Yorkers treated each other that day and in the days after. After the buildings fell, I was at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, watching thousands of people walk over from Manhattan, many of them covered in soot and ash. I watched members of Williamsburg's Hasidic Jewish community hand out hundreds of bottles of water and usher people into their own cars to drive them to different parts of Brooklyn, or somplace where those who had just walked could more easily get home. In the following days, we were just nicer to each other. Growing up in NYC, you learn quickly not to look strangers in the face for too long...its kind of considered an act of aggression to do so, but not in the days following the attacks. At that time people made it a point to look at each other and smile and ask if you were okay, you'd hold doors open for strangers and talk to them. It was surreal; it brought us closer together.
  7. That is SWEET! Great work!

  11. Still more:
  12. I got this kit from my wife for Father's day, and she was upset to find out I already had two of them...so I told her I was going to do something special with it. A couple of years ago, I saw this picture: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Marin...-18C/1337208/M/ ...and was inspired to build this in 1/72 scale: So I printed up some custom decals, and set out to build a '55 Chevy Pro Sportsman as if it were sponsored by the Marine Corps, and used as a recruiting tool. Here's the finished pics:
  13. This one's done...I'll have pics in Under Glass by tomorrow night...
  14. Perhaps, if you had read my post in its entirety, you would have known that I didn't need that reminder. Thanks Harry!
  15. ...and 1/35th scale Brooklyn rats would still look like 1/25th scale puppies! As always Virg, these builds are AWESOME! can't wait to see them finished!
  16. Happy Birthday Shane, and stay safe with Gustav that close!
  17. Happy Labor Day to all! So, How many of us are (or were) in Labor Unions on this board? I'm currently a member of the Communications Workers of America Local 1104 in Nassau County, New York. I work for Verizon as a Special Services Field Technician Before that, I was a member of CWA Local 1109 in Brooklyn, New York where I served as a Shop Steward, Chief Steward and Business Agent. I was a Field Tech (Construction and Maintenance Splicer) How 'bout you?* *I'd like to preemptively and respectfully request that all those who have negative opinions about this topic refrain from posting their opinion in this topic. Its just a request, not an effort to censor anyone. Though you may have a negative opinion about labor unions, there are many who are proud of their affiliation with them; it is a source of professional pride. It would be like throwing tomatoes at us during a parade...just kinda rude, ya know? Thanks in advance for your kind consideration! I know I'll catch heck for this little disclaimer, but I'd like to find out who else on the board is in a union before it degrades into a brawl.
  18. Sqeaky clean build Randy! Looks fantastic!
  19. You could check ARC Air Discussion Forums helicopter section, there's a few posts in there about mimicking that paint scheme. Particularly, there's two guys on there named "Lemon Jello" and "Trigger" that know A LOT about the Osprey. I can't remember exactly, but I think there was a discussion on there whether Testor's Pontiac Engine Light Blue could be used as part of the scheme. Also, on the main Aircraft Resource Center page, in the gallery section, click on "Jet Aircraft", then "F-22" there's a Raptor in that gallery by Jim Rotramel with a similar (and prototypically correct) paint scheme using metallic paint. Hope this helps! Thanks buddy!
  20. Nice work Gary! I would have lost my mind opening up that grill!
