I contemplated just putting this in the normal "on the workbench" section. 1: It will be more model than slot car when it's done due to the body mods and details. 2: There's not much traffic down here in the slot car section.

This WILL be a drag slot car!

I reshaped the side windows to modernize their look. I cut the windows up to the drip rails then added guides so I can rescribe the door lines. Similar to a new car the doors would take the whole A-pillar, and roll over the edge of the top.

Profile, but removing the running boards created another problem. I have to extend the rockers to cover the frame rails.

This one is back on the bench! It should be in the paint booth in a few days. I also have a couple more cars to add to the M.A.S.K. project.

The front end lines up and tilts. The Crypt Keeper likes it! Now to add limiting blocks to the hinges, reshape the hole in the hood, and smooth it out.

New hinges. I don't know what they were thinking with the original ones. I cut and modified the hinges from the tilt nose 53 Ford truck.

When I test fit the body it sat too high in the front. The trans was hitting the trans tunnel and lifting the body. So I got the Corvette chassis I took the suspension from and cut out the center of the trans cross member. Grafting that hoop in dropped the trans and gave the engine the angle it needed for the rake of the chassis.

Too cool, I love show rods. Are you still going to have the skeleton driving it?

Thanks for the compliments. That 57 in the window is actually a survivor. It's a Monogram hard top kit. It was built in 1992 and is supposed to be the Tales from the Crypt car. That car was built from memory after I watched the show. Back then I thought the car was black, not gunmetal grey, and it has dual air cleaners because I didn't have the correct scoop. This was also one of my first attempts at bare metal foil. After 22years the only thing missing is the radiator.
