  1. Got the body and bonnet clearcoated, tested it on the spoon i had painted before doing the model, just to check if it was compatible, luckily it was, i will let this all dry out before wet sanding and polishing it, there's a couple of dust nibs that need removing, the wet sanding will sort that out
  2. I'll be doing more now I can get the paint, I have the 53 Hudson hornet, Studebaker Avanti, 49 Mercury woody wagon, an a few others,
  3. Got the body and bonnet painted today, got the fuel tank masked ready for painting, the bodyshell will be left for a few days to dry out before getting a couple of coats of clearcoat
  4. You could be fooled into thinking the photos of the finished model is actually the real thing, superb build ....
  5. Used them many times, very good service
  6. Very nice, looking forward to seeing more on this build
  7. My first time airbrushing paint bought from MCW, absolutely brilliant paint to use, used through my Passche VL-S double action, also this is the first time I've done the paint fade on the floorpan, hopefully it looks something like it should, i could have painted it satin black, as underseal was an option at the factory, but I've been wanting to try this technique for a long time now, the bulkhead was painted a more glossy finish, now i can mask up the floorpan and chassis and get the interior built up, I'm looking forward to trying this paint out on the bodyshell
  8. Very nice build ....
  9. Can't believe I've spent most of the day just doing the bmf on one of the interior side panels, also got the steering wheel fitted, the chrome on the horn ring was done using the liquid chrome pen
  10. What's not to like, superb build with great detail ......
  11. perhaps because so many convertibles were made in real life ?
  12. On a separate note, Did anyone make a 1:25th kit of the '57 300C Convertible ??, I've done a search on the 'net, and so far came up with nothing
  13. Thank you, but with a little work, it now looks a little better, chrome was done using the Molotow liquid chrome pens
  14. Air Filters assembled Air Filters fitted
  15. no, you wouldn't see them anyway,
  16. Just waiting for the oil filter and air filters to be installed Dash Masked up so the light tan can be airbrushed Probably one of my best masking jobs ... Engine installed in the chassis Started the bmf on the bonnet (Sorry, Hood) All four wheels fitted, and as a bonus, they all tough the ground at the same time ...
  17. they had a stand at the ipms nationals at Telford last year, thought I'd give them a try, I'm glad I did, just a tip, you need to build up the black basecoat in fine layers, leave to dry for half an hour or so, and then do the wet coat, then leave to dry for 72 hours before starting the chrome.
  18. they are, I was very disappointed when i found that out .....
