One of the main reasons I come to this forum is to find new challenges for myself. I do believe that I have found the raised bar that I have been looking for. Excellent work and craftsmanship.

That's the one I have. He gave me all the instructions for all of his old builds. Probably 20 booklets

I'm thinking restoration of the white 72 vett. Custom on the truck and maybe a post apocalyptic with the other stuff

Good looking out Casey. The outside of the cars are where I shine.... Well the car shines.. LoL. I used to work for a custom shop here in California doing paint and fabrication. Where I need to get better is the engine details. This being project #4 I'm still sponging this forum for information.

I also went down and bought some color. It's a very dark blue with just a hint of metallic and pearl. I tried talking a picture of the color dot on the lid but it just looks black

I knew better than to brush paint on to a big surface like door panels. Well I guess I had to learn how to strip paint one of these days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am pretty happy with the way everything else is turning out on my models. This is the first time I tried using wire for my spark plug wires. I definitely want to try the pin drill. Do you have any recommendations for a brand?

I haven't had a lot of time this week but I did manage to get the wheels and tires mounted on the axels and dry fit on the chassis.

A nice paint job with good gap and takeoff are harder to achieve on a model than a 1:1 -

Challenge accepted Slotto. I have a 32coupe , Shelby S1 and a Chevy Cruze to finish first. And possibly a 72 vet that's going to be a 1:1 replica of a friend's car. I think I will do it 100% show room new

Pretty slick. Are the stripes on the back paint or decals?

I'll try it. I think I might try doing a mold of a distributor cap with the wires molded into it. I love this hobby because I can let my obsessive nature run free on things like this

I think the reason it came out so proportional is the way I kept the windshield and the back glass The same size. It took some very tender heating and bending of the"A" pillers I used the testors model masters black lacquer and clear lacquer. I should have used a primer because I ended up using 2.5 cans of the base coat. An extra $12. For educational purposes. I found out that lacquer doesn't like to be rubbed with synthetic clothes. I am quite pleased with the results considering this is only my second model. I have to admit that I cheated a bit I've help built and paint a few show winning 1:1 cars. -
I'm really not happy with the spark plug wires that everyone is using. I'm going to have to do some work and come up with a better solution
