What kind of car is this
HDDan replied to HDDan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My first thought was a zephyr because of the grill but the hood threw me off because it made me think of a Studebaker then the tail fins really threw me off. I was stumped. Thanks for the help. -

One thing that posting on this site does for me, when I post something tlhen go back to look at it the next day and realize that it looks like poo. I am going to dip that coolant reservoir and repaint it. When am I going to learn that the airbrush is my friend.

I am taking so long to complete this build. I got the coolant reservoir done and the seats painted. The seats don't quite have the luster of leather I'm going to do some experiments to see if I can get the look I want. Maybe just some armorall??

After what I like to refer to as the decal debacle. I ordered some decals from scale Motorsports and finally got this thing looking the way it's supposed to. I think that it probably would have laid down better if I had used a more aggressive decals setting liquid but I think that this will be ok.

Thanks. I've been watching your Pagani it's looking awesome. Seeing some of the things you are doing has made me up my game. You might want to check your Shelby to make sure that all the parts are there. My kit was missing the glass. I had to buy a second kit. Let me know if you need some spare parts I might have them.

Getting a little bit of work done on the coolant reservoir. I found some aluminum wire that is going to be great for the heater hose and small coolant lines.

That's awesome. Thanks for the tip!

It's the intake for a Shelby series 1

I am working on a project it's a Shelby series 1. I tried to apply a couple of the kit decals and they basically disintegrated before they even let loose of the backing paper. I figure that these decals are just old and what ever magic makes them work disappeared a long time ago. Now I am looking for some generic under hood decals. Or a reproduction of the original set. Anybody have suggestions?

What Do You Want To See Next?
HDDan replied to Duntov's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I want to see a 1:25 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Evil Dead movie car. -
I have seen your's. You did a great job on it. I was going to put a roof on mine but I hate to be a copy cat. I also wanted to try to do some interior detailing. The other 4 models that I've done have really focused on the paint job. I wanted to try to do something out of my comfort zone. Opening doors is way the heck out of my comfort zone. LoL

I guess that 20 year old decals don't work that good anymore. I tried to put on the carbon fiber for the intake and as soon as they loosened up enough to slide they disintegrated. Does anyone have a line on some good carbon fiber decals??

Hurray for the purple pond! This should be a fun build. Happy building.

Getting into the scratch build portion of this build. It's going to get a lot uglier before it looks pretty. I'm surprised that they didn't include a coolant reservoir but I found some parts in the junkyard that will work just fine.

She's a beauty. Love it -
I figured out the same thing after I looked at some more pictures. I'm not sure why they didn't just use individual coil packs. My 98 Camry v6 had them. This is a 99 model.

If I were putting it together without any modifications it probably wouldn't be so bad.

Making some progress. This May be the last time I cut doors. Every time I test fit something I have to modify something else.
