  1. What a pain!!! I have two Revell Pete Wreckers and one or two other Revell trucks awaiting build. Thanks for the warning. When I come to build the wreckers the hoods will be stretched and the bumper re-positioned as a matter of course right at the planning stage. When I got back into model truck building about 3 years ago the first truck I built was the Revell Kenworth Aerodyne. What a pain in the nether regions!! The cab wouldn't fit properly, the floor was all twisted, the doors didn't fit. Aaaarrrgghhh!! :x :x :x But its important to persevere, the result wasn't too bad for a first build in 25 years. As a result of my initial irritations and problems I go about my projects much different these days. Once again Thanks for the warnings. PS The truck looks great.
  2. I haven't built anything from Italeri yet, but have plans to do so. All the comments I've read on this forum seem to be very positive. I will look forward to seeing how you get on with the project. Good Luck!!
  3. I like the look of this truck. Is the engine a straight six or a "V" configuration. I can't see to well in the photo's, but great work.
  4. What a question. This is certain to generate some interest. For me I would just hope that if the manufacturers were to bring any new kits to the market. They would do their market research properly to manufacture kits that reflect the wants and needs of the model truck builder. It would be interesting to see if these matched the real needs and wants of the owners and drivers of real trucks. For example the Revell and Italeri 377 Peterbilt. If you asked someone what the most popular modern peterbilt is I don't think they would say the 377. Its almost a foregone conclusion that they would say 379. This seems to be one of the trucks that everyone wants. So what do the model manufacturers do make a 377. My interests are trucks from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. So really I,m pretty well taken care of with the AMT, Ertl, Revell and Italeri range, supplimented by some excellent aftermarket parts. But I would love to build a 379 Pete with a C16 Caterpillar and a new aerodynamic Pete 384 and one or two others. Yes, good question, its certainly got me thinking.
  5. Chris, Very Impressive!!! Can't wait to see the photo's of it done. Excellent!!
  6. Anthony, What a great looking trailer. Superb skills and craftsmanship. I have plans to build a lowboy sometime. Having seen this excellent trailer gives me more ideas and encouragement.
  7. Wow!! Matt this looks a brute of a truck. Imagine seeing this beast coming at you down the dirt track. Great Work.
  8. Jerry, Like the colour scheme.
  9. If i had just bought this Pete there would be only one place I would send it for the Lift Axle and Dump Body... The Turbo590 Workshops. Wow!! What a combination. A Timbilt Pete with a Kurtbilt dump body.
  10. Superb!!! I can see this truck parked on the dealers forecourt. Great Work Tim. PS Is red cab and hood with black frame the official Peterbilt Colours?
  11. Tim, A pity you weren't in the Marketing Department at PB. The new 389 might have got some decent looking headlights. They look like the type of Spectacles women used to wear in the 1950s and 1960s  . Fit some single round headlights and the new Pete's will look superb!! I definately could see you working in the marketing Department spending time with the owners and drivers, finding out what they really want. Getting involved in new prototypes , testing vehicles. Wow what a great job!!! 8) What ever Tim its been a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
  12. Tim, Great little project. Look forward to seeing the finished photo,s. Never seen a 365 before. Best Wishes

  14. This looks interesting, like the colour this will work well with plenty of chrome.
  15. These little dioramas really do add something special to the trucks. Helps to bring them to life. I always look forward to seeing the photo's of your next build and this is no exception. Its great to see the ideas and what you have achieved with a simple kit and some pieces of plastic from the scrap box. Great Work Tim!!
  16. Many Thanks Tim, Hmmm!!! That gives me something to think about. I was going to put the Cummins KTA 600 in the Pete but with a BBC of 117" on the 353 would it fit? Or is it better to build a heavy duty 357, but again would a Cummins KTA fit in this? I bought a Pete Alaskan Hauler to go with my KW Alaskan Hauler last Saturday so it will take a few days to arrive. At present I,m busy messing around with an Autocar twin steer heavy duty dump truck and will complete this before I start the Pete and KW. So I have plenty of time to Plan the truck, I'm keen to build them as a pair in the same livery and with the same running gear. Its just a question of which Peterbilt model? Out of interest does anyone know what the model type of the Kenworth Alaskan Hauler from AMT is? Thanks again Tim, your knowledge and help is second to none. Many Thanks
  17. This is starting to take shape nicely. How did you manage to get the rivet details on the sleeper in the right place? Good work so far, look forward to seeing the progress photos.
  18. This looks great! Like the opening doors, is this a feature of the kit or did you cut them out yourself?
  19. Interesting idea, looks good so far.
  20. This has turned out well. The aerodyne suits the Astro.
  21. This is coming along nicely Chris.
