Thanks a bunch guys. Your comments mean a lot especially after seeing the caliber of builds you all do. mackinac359, I hunted and hunted for something that would work for the flares. I ended up buying the biggest diameter electrical shrink tube I could find, cut it down and super glued it into place. It's nice and thin, pliable, really fit the bill.

As a kid I use to build a lot of trucks. Then maybe because of the price now a days haven't done to much with them. This build all started with a set of rear tires. Couldn't think what to use them for. Then I found a monster truck toy and bought it for the front wheels. The rest as they say is history LOL. I shortened the frame and used an old transformer that you get with the AMT I believe it was low boy trailer kits and made a tank out of it. The rest was scratch built using styrene. I wired and plumbed the air lines , hydraulic lines and sprayer lines. This is also the first time I have tried weathering, gave it a dusty look. I was fortunate enough to win best truck over all in the Western Canada Regionals this year and also got it published in Great Scale Modeling magazine. A high lite of my building carer for sure.

I can never get enough of these little cars. Please do keep us posted as you go along.

"Ask and you shall receive". I am overwhelmed from the responses from you guys. Great info, great builds! Now all I need is time....DOH! Edit. I haven't done to much other off road stuff. Just learning and playing around with them. The first one I ever did was a tube frame rail, then a Baja which also has working suspension. Now this truck.

Looks great James. George, the original Cuda kit came with black and white decals. The re release only comes with black. Which Cuda kit do you have?

Hey Ron good to see you as well. Didn't get out much this year but it's running great. Built a high performance motor and mounted some new Terra tires on it and also added disc brakes. She is a dream to drive now. Also got a fiberglass street legal dune buggy I'm working on. fabbing my own frame, roll bars. Just like the models only 1:1 :-) Chase....Dud WOW! Man just awesome! You are definitely familiar with these subjects, they look spot on. Now I have something to shoot for. So it looks like you are using where the door seam was as a place to stop the flair. The front I guess all depends on what the model wants to make it look right. On the backs, they are more subtle. SO, how are you getting a wide (up and down the length of the bed) yet not wide across the truck look. If you cut less from the Jello cup, doesn't that make it narrow.....OR are you sectioning the Jello cup and adding material between the cup to get width (front to back). Phenomenal work, very impressive.

I had head a rumor that Perry's Resin was coming out with a Square back and Notch back. But this was so long ago and I have seen nothing.................

Thanks Chase. I'm out of town right now working but from what I can remember I wont need a whole lot of flair. Having said that a wider flair than required might look nice. I could also pull the wheels out a bit if I had to. I have no issues with building the flairs myself, thank you very much for the offer. I just need some ideas so if you can take some pictures I would be very grateful.

Thanks guys..... I was thinking about using the same out line the fender has now(the opening), just wider. I was thinking about cutting the arc out, widening the fender, then re using the arc. I'm not sure.

LOL Thanks guys. I'm traveling ...again so wont be able to do anything this week :-( . Hey, I need all of your help. I'm not much for body mods and need help with a few ideas on how I'm going to flair the fenders on this thing, front and back. Also I'm thinking about filling all the door lines in, give it more of a fiberglass look to it. Do you agree? I'm a bit worried about the fenders. The truck should look pretty good when done "IF" I can pull off the fenders "OR" it could go all for........ and look horrible. I've got to many hours into this thing to have it go all wrong in the end.

Thanks Paul. LOL Not sure. It is the 57 Pro Mod kit but the front suspension had to be moved back, the back of the car had to be shortened. I modified the roll cage (some original, some scratch) to fit the interior better. -
Joe! Good to see you. I'm new here myself. The redo looks great. I liked it the first time, like it even more now.

One word....... COOL!

I'm in love! Some people think you need to super detail everything. This keep it simple approach works for me. Subtle things like wires and chute cable ..... it's beautiful! Paint is drop dead gorgeous as well. I have this one started (My first resin) and will be using the quad cam McGee engine in it.

Geesh, you guys have some serious talent. This thing looks mean and tough as nails. Awesome.

We are looking at the definition of "Super clean" builds. Incredible! What paint and color do you use for your wheels. I love it!

Wow guys, some beautiful cars here. I have only done 3 corvettes so far.... yet I have about 15 or so kits of them. Not sure why I don't build them cause they are cool subjects. Here are two of them. I also did a 32 Ford with all Corvette running gear. I called it my "G"Rod, "G" as in G force. But since this is only Corvettes in this thread I'll leave it to your imagination LOL.

Thanks Mike. Time seems to be at a premium these days, but I managed to get something accomplished this evening. I did a little work on the engine, modified some Nascar radiators and added some more roll cage to mount the rads with. The interior cage still comes out so I can paint everything properly......................

Good point. Make sure you do a build up on that early 70's set up. Would love to see it. I most certainly am, thanks. Thanks bsoder. -

Thanks again guys. Have been traveling for work so no time to build You just get all wound up and finish a project then want to start another but you can't, very frustrating. -
This thing is HOT!! I wish we were able to see the build up as you went along.

Yep. My uncle did that to his Dart (Late 60's car if I remember correctly). The car looked tubbed but it was not.

Nice collection! I did the Color me gone car as well, what a pain in the neck trying to match the roof with the decal color. Yours looks to be right on. Love the red and white front wheel on the RamCharger car.
