  1. welcome to the fray!! can't wait to see pics of that Charger!!!
  2. welcome to the fray, Scotty!! I think you will really love it here, as i sure do. Lots of great builders on here, and lots of helpful info, too. Gregg And Jairus run a great forum here!! How's about some pictures of your work??
  3. great Looking Austin, John!! i really like the front end decals for the nose you created, too!! Looks like something the late Wally Parks would have ran!!! God bless his soul!! I also love what you did in the cockpit as far as the roll cage went!!
  4. I was just over looking at the Model Roundup's site, and saw the listings for the 69 GTO funny car that was supposed to be Arnie Bestwick's "Super Judge" car, and there was no indication that the "Super Judge" decals were included. Did they have licensing issues?? What is the scoop here?? Reguardless, i will still buy one and use my "Super Judge" decals i already have. Just wondering.
  5. Staff Sargeant Hansel, please email Corpral Coffey pertaining aquiring the Dupont Hot Hues colors in 1-2 oz sizes, at your conveinence!! thank ye!!
  6. hey now, my wife builds fairly good biscuits, and from scratch, too!! can't say that for myself, though!!
  7. i am really tempted to try out aircraft stripper on diecast, just to see if it hurts the metal. i would presume it wouldn't, as i have used this volitile stuff on aluminum, and pot metal with no ill effects. And yes, i have used it on plastic, it does take off the paint, and MELTS everything under it!!!!!
  8. That is a real bummer!!! that is why i got a steam powered, crank start compaq!! BTW Gregg, did you say you got a Mac, or you just had a big Mac???
  9. ok, ok, i am as guilty as sin, and i suppose Santa is gunna put a large pile of fecal matter in my stocking, but to be honest, i really hate suprises, especially christmas. I gave my wonderful wife a list of kits that i want for christmas, and by golly, she got me my top 4 kits. How did i peek?? well, after my kids went out to play, i carefully took my exacto, and some tape, and cut on the tape, exposed the end to see what it was, and low and behold, i got 4 of the model king funnycars i wanted!!!!! i then re-taped the ends. Nobody the wiser!!!
  10. that super stallion kit has a twin turbo charged V-8 in it that would be the cats meow in an old car!!
  11. another good Mustang donor kit is the Revell "super stallion" kit!! i have had atleast 5 of them kits, but NEVER got to pilfer any parts out of it before friends were hounding me to trade it!!
  12. MAN Raul!!! that is reeeeeeeeaaaaaly a sweet build!!! making me want to head to the closet to see if i got one of them Mustang donor kits just to see what i can concoct. oh wait... need to finish up 4 current projects before i start another one!! DANG IT!!!
  13. i love the direction you are going with your longtop!! subtle, yet effective!! firm, yet fair!!! can't wait to see it done!!!
  14. MJ, you once again, cease to amaze me with your projects!!! if i was 1/16th as productive as you, i'd get alot more done then 4 or 5 models a year!! your Mustang looks killer!!! Can't wait till it's done buddy!!
  15. Now would be a good time for Model Factory/Hiro to get a Saleen S-7 going!! Love there kits, but not terribly crazy about there prices, but that is just me. Maybe Tamiya (are you guys listening??) will think about this one!!!! hey, a guy can wish, can't he??
  16. our hands are in our pockets?? last time i saw a guys collection, i did have my hands in my pockets, but it was because i needed to use his restroom, and the rest of his family was using it to shower!!!
  17. WOW!!! Neighbors with a Bugatti Veyron??? better become friends with them!! and i presume they garage this car?? We don't see anything that cool here in Spokane, probably never will!!
  18. man, this is a deep subject here folks!! but hey, i see how easy it is to "just throw her in the slammer and forget her", but as ALOT of real wisdom has been spoken on this subject, i really admire you all who have battled and won this evil addiction monster. I am currently battling a lesser demon, but is still a powerful but still deadly addiction, and it is chewing. I really understand that with most addictions, it seems to be a "mind over matter" type of deal. When i was in the ARMY, i developed a ferocious drinking habit, but i put mind over matter, and dropped it, but not without a small fight. Right now, i am 50-50 on trying to kick chewing, as i have been doing it for over 20 yrs. I go on the perverbial wagon for a week or so, then i get a weak moment, and before you know it, i am back into the copenhagen. To me, it also is alot about self disapline, and if you don't want to help yourself, then it makes kicking the addiction 100 times harder. I really hope your friend gets some help. don't turn your back on her.
  19. thank god i got a wife who gives a hoot about my hobby, she picked me up not 1, but 2 model gems in 1 week, and for a serious STEAL... the first one was a promo of a 1964 T-bird convertable, from the local 2nd hand store, for 25 cents!!!! it is pewter in color. All the chrome is in decent shape, but the windshield frame is broke, an easy fix there. And the crown jewel, happend last night at our monthly model meeting. Our ex-treasurer brought in a kit for the raffle, so my wife bought me 5 bucks worth of raffle tickets, and sure enough, her ticket was the 1st one called. So what did she pick, the kit that out ex-treasurer brought in. What is it you say?? an UNWRAPPED, UNTOUCHED MPC 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler 3 in 1 kit!!!!!!!!!!!! i was happier then Jim Nieghbors with a wheelbarrow full of buttholes!!! BUUUT, as soon as i got it home, i unwrapped it, and was inspecting it, and the body is MAJORLY warped...... i got most of the warp out of it, but it still needs lots more working. It is very savable. how 'bout them apples???
  20. i really like it!!! i did up a C-6 vette just like the one we got in for a customer earlier this year, but his was a sunset orange, and it was an automatic. I got to say, i was a bit dissapointed in it. wasn't much "poop" there when i did a little tap dance on the throttle, and the ride was rather ridgid. other then that, it wasn't too bad. i think i was more impressed with the '08 SS Impala's, and especially the SS trail blazer, now those are FUN!!!!!! Not much new for the '08's as far as the 'Vette's go, some real minor items.
  21. Ok Jairus, (aka ART), here's one my nine year old son gets a kick out of saying- Art, Art, cut a fart, and blew it all apart!!! lets hope that none of us are capable of doing this!!!
  22. Hey Aaron- do you remember if 240 Gordie Bonin drove this car, or was it another shoe?? I happen to know Gordie very well!! He was the insperation behind the recent return of his "bubble-up" pacemaker firebird F/C that Ron Hodgson owns and Terry Capps drives. And another question, where on earth did you get the decals to do that car, are they Slixx?? BTW- FAN-FREAKIN-TABULOLUS build!!!! your model is the reason why i love vintage drag racing so much!!!!
  23. your guy's responses make perfect sense. I really didn't take the royalites and licensing junk into consiteration, (duh). i guess were not living in the "80's" anymore, where all this was reletivly small potatos then. Too bad for the manufacturers, but is good for the resin industry!! Chris Coffey, Spokane, WA
  24. How cool!!! did you ever get to ask him what became of his LA DART swinger?? did he sell it? I know a guy who has his Knott's Berry Farm "berry wagon". Where has he been?? love to hear from him!!! Chris Coffey, Spokane, WA
  25. i got this EXP body along with a 56 crown victoria body, and a olds cutlass stage 2 as a set from ebay for 30 bucks. Not sure when i will do anything with them. I got a set of Blue Max decals from fred cady, but they appear to be for his mid 1980's mustang SVO body. I wish you the best on your venture, as i am sure it will be DY-NO-MITE!! Chris Coffey, Spokane, WA
