  13. I'm also a very lucky man. My wife is also an artist, so she understands the creative obsession. The need build or make something. We see the "art" in modelbuilding. She has what I call "attention to detail". She helped alot with my 1968 Texaco Service Station. Example - the calendar in the office see made it in MS Word, printed, cutout and then curled the edges of the calendar to make it look real. She has a hard time with buying a model and then not building it. I say the model has to be in stock just in case. She does not like when I do not finish a model. I build models to relax, for me each day is different. She supports me 110%.
  14. Sweet ride. I have also used nail polish, what barrier/primer do you use? I was at Wal-Mart and they had all summer shades on sale; some $1.99 or $2.47
  15. Hey Mark, welcome aboard. I think this is the best model car forum bar none. Mark I am 30 minutes outside of Halifax. See you soon!
  16. The base is "mdf". Approx. 29" x 47" I started with the MRC 1968 Texaco Station, using most of the parts. I scratch build the walls, used Scale Models by Chris for the accessories. Things I learned along the way. Think of the end result. That is where is it going to be located - big area 29x47 (My wife does not want it in the living or family rooms.) 29 inches wide - doorways are 30 inches sometmes difficult to manage. I would make components then pin to base. Tranaporting is alot easier. Along with storage if not on display (I glued everything to the base) Please send me a pm if you have any questions
