I took apart my mpc 1969 plymouth barracuda model and redid it as the right hand drive 69 Chrysler valiant barracuda from south Africa which was in production for 3 year 68 ,69 ,70 I put a Chrysler 225 slant 6 under the hood as that was the only engine option these cars had I cut apart a Revell 68,69 dart dash and rearranged the parts to make it a right hand drive dash I also made bumper guards and added this vinyl roof section on the roof that I saw in the reference pics I used I also modified a set of rims from my parts boxes to match the ones on the car in the reference pics I painted the body a base coat rust-oleum 2x gloss apple red and a top coat of eastup high performance wheel paint flash orange gold I did all the body and interior detail paint work with a few different colors of acrylic craft paint using dead ultra fine tip sharpie markers instead of paint brushes i have a 1969 cover of proud mary sund by a south african band called the rising sons playing in the back ground of the video south african 69 chrysler valiant cuda.mp4

  11. mercury was who sold the ford capri in the north america market and there was two different assembly plants were ford capri were built in europe one in the uk which did the right hand drive version and one in germany which made the left hand drive versions so most likelythe mercury carpi were assembled in the geran ford factory and sent to north america and then the mercury name plates and logo were added to the car before they were delivered to the dealerships

I took apart my monogram 1/24 scale Mercury Capri ll and redid it as a British ford capri ll I did a dash swap with a right hand drive one from a 1/24 British ford escort mk ll I reprimed the body and then repainted it a base coat of rust-oleum 2x satin oasis blue and a top coat of eastup high performance wheel paint flash dark blue I repainted the interior rust-oleum 2x flat black primer british 76 ford capri 2.mp4
