  1. I built this GSX many years ago. It has seen some pretty rough times over the years but I recently decide to change the wheels and put it back together. Still have a couple pieces to go but it is looking decent again. Missing a few pieces but overall everything is there that's important.
  2. Correct. I just used that pic to show the look I was going for. Thanks for sharing it.
  3. Thanks Rick. Indeed I do. Not sure just yet how I want to do it but there will be some kind of reinforcing structure for the front clip.
  4. Thanks Dan. Still a long way to go but I like it so far.
  5. Thanks everyone. It is slow for me but little by little I will get it done.
  6. Finally got the base coat on.
  7. Do you have any pics to share? I'd love to see some of his old rides.
  8. Well, after losing all my patience with the "glue-bombed" tubular front end. I tossed it and went with the original front suspension. I added the polystyrene tubes to help it look a little more realistic and will probably add a couple more later. I know it's not a typical true to life way of doing this but it's ok for me. I wish it was lower in the front but I am beginning to like it as is so this will more than likely be the way it sits from here on out.
  9. The only issue with this tape is I have to steel wool off the "3M" printing but its not bad.
  10. Well here is my first attempt at using HVAC foil tape (Lowe's 3M tape) for the aluminum finish. I used popsicle sticks for doing edges. I plan to do the entire chassis pan areas with this tape.
  11. Here's a few more. Still want to get the front end down some more, I think the rear end is sitting pretty good. The wheelbase is slightly off as well, still a lot of work do to on this one.
  12. Well, I have changed my mind yet again and now I am back to a pro street setup for this project. I am kit bashing from an and old glue bombed Charles Carpenter 55 and a Rob Vandergriff 57 to pull this together. I still have a long ways to go but this is a start. Here's the 1:1 look I'm hoping for:
  13. Thanks for the info. I will check into this for sure.
  14. That's me. I'm afraid that if I get too far out with this project I will never get it finished.
  15. Well, I am still wrestling with the idea of keeping this as a GTO or converting to a Lemans. Right now I am thinking of just making the GTO look as close to my Dad's Lemans as I can and call it good. I received the actual GM paint for the original Reef Turquoise and so far it is a perfect match. I LOVE this color! 1966 Pontiac GTO K Reef Turquoise Paint Manufacturer Codes PPG/Ditzler : 43364 Dupont : 4628L, 4628, 181-97217, 97217 Acme/Rogers : 9664 Sherwin Williams : 2423 RM/BASF : A1718 Here's what I have done on the interior so far. Still have paint the door/window handle knobs black and a few other details. I got the redline tires in today but I realized the tires I ordered are 1:24 and the car is 1:25 so, they fill up the wheel-well a little too much I think. What do you guys think?
  16. You are very welcome guys. I will start digging through and post up another round of pics.
  17. Yes, those guys out there sure know how to build cars and put on a real nice car show/cruise.
  18. You bet, I always enjoy sharing stuff like this.
  19. You're garage is AWESOME!!!!!
  20. Hahaha. I understand but sir but I did not know anyone could set the bar this high. Your work is AMAZING!
  21. You betcha wish I had pics of them all but that would have been an insane number of photos. Those folks are some heavy hitters with the 1:1 stuff.
  22. A couple but the token answer generally seems that they don't do custom orders like what I need. I am still contacting some of them but so far I am having no luck.
  23. Can anyone tell me of someone who would be willing to create a file of this tube chassis in 1:24/25 scale (115" wheelbase) that I could send to Shapeways to be printed? Thanks,
  24. When I loved in Denver a few years back they would have some of the best car shows I've ever been to. Here is a very small sample of the last car show I attended there before moving away. https://photos.app.goo.gl/qDRH3LswEEgP8acw8
