MCM Regular (3/6)
About Me
Started working when I was 6 years old in my father's prepared food equipment business. Worked with him off and on until his death in 1989. Spent 40+ years in the corporate world beginning with what is now Verizon Communications. Started working on 1:1 cars at the age of 12, attended my first drag race at 14 with friends and started racing at 16. Currently drive a 7 second, 180+ mph rear engine dragster and a 9 second, 145 mph Monza tube frame car. I have been married 47 years to the same woman, have two great Yorkies (Enzo and Theo) plus 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Haven't built any models in quite awhile, starting up again this winter (2019).
My family's coat of arms simply indicates that what you do for me will be returned to you 3 times over. We have traced our bloodline back to Scottish knights around the late 1100's. Our family occupied the area known as the Borderlands along the border of Scotland and England.
Racing at Bristol TN this past July 4th weekend. My middle son Phil is in the Corvette roadster, a ride we just purchased last year. I borrowed his Camaro (built in my garage together about 15 years ago) for this race. Didn't have much luck but we had some fun!
Yes, we're second cousins. He had one hell of a racing career and we're proud of him.
This is our racing banner, you will find our flag flying at a number of tracks in the South.
