    I had to test fit the cab to figure out where to locate the right side filler neck on the fuel tank. I also took the time to locate the cab filler plate and the exhaust elbows. ( the instructions are wrong showing the location of the fill necks.)

    the tank straps were filed off along with the chrome. they were then steel wooled and painted with krylon silver foil spray paint in a rattle can. thanks for your interest Steve.

    got the exhaust painted up and parts installed.

    engine and radiator installed along with the upper and lower hoses. started work on the battery box.

    got some paint put on the chassis. it's rust oleum so it will take several days to dry. I personally like the shade of red. need to start stripping the 5th wheel assembly and fuel tanks.

    I had to file the inside of both rear axle housings to get enough play for the middle axle wheels to sit properly. with that done I assembled the rest of the chassis that will all get painted the same color.

    axles are mounted, time to make sure all wheels are touching the ground.
