  1. I'll post some better pix when I'm finished! The wheel wells have been opened up and flared, the pic is bad and the angle it was taken at makes it look strange. Good eye, these cars were massaged to death back then.
  2. This is as close as I can get the stance! Tim pointed out to me to look at the blue line of the tire compared to the fender opening. Time to finish and move on!
  3. Will the chassis ready to reassemble! Major spindle job and lowering the engine cage! Hopefully this works out?
  4. That's an amazing job using the Johan chassis!!!
  5. Howard, Thank you! And Thanks for your help!! Gerald
  6. The answer in my research is probably not! I did however run across some good pix of the NASCAR Boss 429 to use.
  7. By '72 were they using braided steel lines?
  8. Anyone have pix of their 429 built? I need help with the water pump placement. The instruction are very strange looking!! Thanks, Gerald
  9. Can't help you with the decals, but I hope you find them! Love to see this finished, it looks great so far!!!!
  10. Interesting!!
  11. Looking good Larry!! How will you be making the glass?
  12. Started over with the Nichels chassis. This time I spaced the 1/8" square tubing with a 3/4" gap to drop the engine into, this gives the oil filter and pump more clearance on the drivers side and the fuel pump more room on the other. I added 4 pieces of .020 plastic sheet 1/8"x3/16" to serve as motor mounts. This places the engine level and reduces the 3/4" gap enough to mount the engine. Also placed the front cross member 3/64" more forward to clear the fan. Still a long way to go!! Gerald
  13. Man I missed this one! Looks great love the color and shine!!!
  14. Great job! This will be a great help if I get around to building one!
  15. I can't keep from messing with things! I took Tim's (yellowsportswagen) advice and cast the Johan 429 Torino valve covers and detailed the Polar Lights intake. After I cast a set of valve covers I detailed them with bolt heads and pre-drilled the plug holes. I've already built the dry sump oil pan and oil reserve for this project.
  16. Great news on the Buick!! This is the first stock car that I have built in 20 years! The help I have received here has been amazing. Think I'll start fresh on the chassis and use this as a great learning experience.
  17. Think I may rebuild the entire chassis! I can use the first one as an example of what not to do! ?
  18. Yeah, I'd say lose about half or more!!! At this point I need to rebuild the whole front of the chassis. The engine cage is also to tall!
  19. Got to do some major suspension work!!
  20. Sadly upon the final assembly, the engine cage is too tall and will have to be rebuilt. I'll put this on hold and work on the mercury for now?
  21. Hakan, Thank you!!!!
  22. Anyone know the battery location?
  23. That's what I always use!!! Wanted see if I'm just to old school ?
  24. What are all the cool kids using these days to attach their window glass! What types of glues? Gerald
