hello everyone! Built this pretty much box stock, only thing added was a diff. carb. The paint is HOK but is not flamed just a dum design i did instead somthing diff i guess. Man these are cool kits! Ya ive read about the steps for them. but still depends on what base. The color yours came out does look sweet though i like it! Sometimes ya just cant follow there directions. lol The walmart HOK is like a generic type of it. its also like and enamel. your welcome no problem just my own opinion. Manny

I dont think you grabbed the wrong can at all. The base coat is what is gonna bring out the color! If you would have used maybe silver you would see a big difference. I dont use there cans so not to sure about them. I buy all HOK by the qt. and gal. Maybe next time try a diferent base coat on a scrap body. I like to use copper, gold and silver depending on the color im going to paint. Manny

Hello everyone! Well I wanted to try using Alclad black base and Alclad Chrome Base to see what it would look like with a candy color over it. Started out with: Alclad black base Alclad Chrome HOK Candy Red (5coats) Duplicolor Clear (3coats) Rubed and polished. (Novus #2 polish compound, and Black Magic Polish) The color turned out pretty cool I think, its much darker then here in the picture though, I gotta take one outside when it gets sunny out again lol Wasnt sure if anyone tried it before so I thought I would give it a shot. Thanks guys! Soon as I get the decals designed and sent to be printed up, i'll put those on and clear again after. Then rub and polish it out. Will post pics of the body when done. Once im done with the body I will be sending the car with a 572 big block VCG Resins engine to Shaw Hot Rods to finish the car up. I will post wip pics of this build. Thanks! Manny

Thanks guys! Im designing the decals for it now, and they will be printed by gooche decals. I'll probley rub it out in a week cause i got get the decals done and put on, then clear again, then rub and polish it. Manny
