For my money, when gluing, NOTHING beats the Flexi-File "Touch & Flow" applicator: It's a thin glass tube, with a hypodermic-sized length of stainless steel tubing fixed in one end. Use with any of the MEK-based pure liquid cements out there (Ambroid Pro-Weld, Tenax, or Flexi-File's own liquid cement--NONE of these have any of thickens--are pure solvent--much thinner even than water!). Just touch the tip to the joint to be glued, and the liquid glue flows right into the joint, leaving ABSOLUTELY no residue behind.

I had bought one and then forgot where I put it. Now its found and I have to try it out. I think Al's Hobby Shop closed its doors a few years ago , so applicator has been lost for a while.

Getting back to this build...I located some original glass for the '60 hardtop and ran the scriber thru all the door , trunk and skirt lines to get the build up of old paint out. Made a set of fender sights, locating a good original pair just wasn't happening.Only custom items are spots , rear tail lights, wheels and a set Goodyear poly glass tires.Used top axle holes for ride height, Primer it all up tomorrow and paint it 2 tone Tuxedo black and white this week. The interior Im not sure on colors or color. Hope to get it foiled up before years end.

Is that alclad chrome on the vault door ?
No its kit chrome..

It was a busted up new kit when I got it, but with a little cutting, shaping and pulling it came out ok, I made some money bags and used die-cut letters for truck numbers. The kit is actually a small bank with the top gun turret being a coin slot and the back door the vault opening.

This turned out nice. How is this truck compared to a regular pickup? Size comparison for a regular armored truck.
I think its an '' it is what it is '' kit. Its a 1/24th scale kit but if you start introducing 1/25th scale medium duty truck parts in the mix you will see the body is on the small size.

Chassis done,, not much to it or the interior, besides its all covered up by green glass. Drilled out the header pipes and used ''Detailer'' on the steps.

Paint on and dry, not much to this kit. Should get it done this weekend.

Oh and I also do windows too.
You sound like you keep pretty busy Nick, now about those windows, if you have a little free time I have a few this spring that could use some of your expertise.
Stay warm brother.......its cold out..

I bought some Tamiya thin liquid glue and love this stuff, it cost the same as Testors at Hobby Lobby. Testors , although I dont have a problem with the glue itself, they changed the applicator from a metal needle point to a plastic spout, I didnt like the change. Tamiyas brush applicator for me is perfect in size and easier to use. Tamiya 40 ml vs Testors 29.5 ml
Another great item from Tamiya is this panel scriber. Scribes out a plastic curl each time with an easy touch, found for under 9 bucks shipped on E-bay . Two thumbs up for these items..

Body work done, final mock up and ready for primer. Any thing white is Tamiya putty I used to fill the cracks from the broken body. The steps are all new also.
The wheels were also broken, replacement wheels are parts boxbut match was pretty close
paint will be 2 tone Yellow and White.

I recently, within the last six months or so, added the IMC Avenger GT-12. Very cool kit. I hunted for one for a couple years. Happy to say, the one I got was unbuilt and complete.
I also hunted for an untouched issue for awhile, Im not sure but I dont think it was ever reissued.

Is it a good kit to build.?? I have been really curious about that...
It can be bult as a VW rear powered kit car or a front engine funny car.

Went to the Tinley Park Toy and Model swaps today AKA Old Hillside Show for those in my area , and I was able to keep my cost down by purchasing only a few things I didnt need

I ordered this kit online with other items and kit arrived destroyed. The seller made good on it and let me keep the kit.The body was broken in half at the windshield, one side of the ''A'' frame gone and all breaks in the plastic were not clean breaks,Im waitjng for some items for the 60 T-bird Im working on so I figured why not fix this kit,so here goes.......
Used some evergreen strips to beef up the breaks underneath and white areas on the top side is Tamiya putty.
running boards were also busted up, so now Im making a set of new ones, rear mags were busted up too which seemed strange, but easy parts box fix for those..
Im not sure which way to go with it yet but it always figures itself out

Nice save! Great work on something as old as me!
HA...thats so true how our age bracket tends to stay in or near our era of builds, At least hats how it is with me
Very seldom do I build anything that would use unleaded
PS your not that old, you just remember more.....
MPC Mail Truck show rod
in WIP: Model Cars

I bought this last year , got it all apart and paint removed. Some parts have glue smudges and I broke one spindle but all fixable. I was also fortunate to score a Billy Gooche decal set for it also last year. Was this kit ever released as any other show rod or re released as Mail Truck?
It needs some more clean up but easy work.
