  1. I stand corrected. I have a '67 built-up HUG I acquired years ago. Obviously it was kit- bashed with a promo body. One day I'll strip it and see what color it is when I rebuild it.
  2. Search back 3 pages and you'll see the Baja post. Replicas & Minatures is doing a correct Baja. Norms stuff is first-rate. I ordered 2 myself.....
  3. I got the OK from the guy running the paint shop to pour me a few ounces of what ever color I like that they are spraying. I got 3 oz. of House of Color Candy Brandywine this week. I have a box of new, empty paint jars waiting…… We have about 3 paints this week. Stock up now, building season is upon us…..
  4. He wins. Whatever it is, this guy wins. Beyond words…...
  5. The above picture of the 4 `68 annuals is mine……. Actually, MPC used the annual promo body of the Barracudas to do the H.U.G. There's a 67-8-9 kit of each. The `66 was AMT. Aurora did the `66 in 1/32 scale, which is the only one I don't have.
  6. The R2 re-issue is the `66 kit. The initial run had the incorrect box art showing the `69 version (flat hood w/ peaked header panel and no hood call-outs) which was an MPC kit. But why is the re-issued kit labeled MPC when the original was AMT?
  7. A former co-worker had an LX in that color with polished Centerlines. Sweet color in-person. Great stance and styling choices you've made.
  8. I really like the work you've done. And yes, I agree ChryCo should have done this already.
  9. Nice to see some updates Dirk. Beautiful build!
  10. The majority of our work is resto-modding vintage cars. Disc brakes, lowered suspension, engines, wheels/tires, and killer paint and so forth. Some times you get one that is just a bit tough to pull off. Here we have an EARLY `64 Mustang that's getting the treatment. Aside from the 4 speed w/ scatter shield and disc brakes, we added a power twin circuit master, Borgensen power steering, and long-tube headers on his…..351W he has stuffed in there. Subframe connectors, Cal Tracs, 4-something locker out back. I can't wait to test drive this one, but man…. what a packaging nightmare! The power steering box, rear header tube, clutch Z bar, and power steering hoses all want to be in the same place. With a layer of brake lines and proportioning valve on top. We pulled it off with custom headers and P/S hoses and some finesse…. Early in the build: candy brandywine with a black interior. Polished torque-thrusts And here's a few shots of 5lbs. of stuff in a 2 lb. bag. This is the final product. All lines and hoses are finalized and all wiring/linkage is set. Add oil, gas, and water and she's a runner... Here's the drivers side. Tight is an understatement! Here's a good idea of the packaging and what's all in there. The steering box is directly under the brake booster/master cylinder and the clutch Z bar snakes around it, just missing the rear header tube. And the passenger side is totally un-restricted….. not that anything could be moved to that side! As much fun as it is, pulling that left side header in & out about 5 times was no simple task. The aligning, modifying, double-checking, re-adjusting, and final installation took 2 weeks start to finish between test fitting, making the pipes, and having them ceramic coated. THEN I could start assembling everything. It's a slow-go at times, but the finished car is going to be neat.
  11. I agree the late-60's Steelies & Caps don't work, but that's an easy fix. I too would tone it down a bit also but car itself is flat-out bitchin! Dee Cee: cool piece!
  12. The stuff that rolls in & out of my place is really interesting. At least twice a week something like this Plymouth visits. BTW: I noticed the badges immediately when I first saw this car. Talk about a hook.... reeled me right in.
  13. As beautiful as the car is, I find it odd that it's parked in a mud puddle. Boy did he ever do you a favor! 96 miles…. wow.
  14. This rolled into the shop today. WOW! `48 Plymouth coupe with a 6.1 Hemi, overdrive automatic, 4 wheel discs, power steering & brakes, steelies and caps. This belongs in my garage.
  15. He has real nice tires too…..
  16. SEMA is breaking chops about "qualifications" for entry, trying to weed out the non-players…… Since me & my cousin share the same last name, I'll register him as my spouse!
  17. Me & my cousin are pre-registered!!!!! Hotel & flight reservations tonight, then we wait for November... Gonna be so friggen cool....
  18. I saw this earlier last week at a local cruise night and regretted not taking pictures. This afternoon I participated in a car show at Belmont Park and he was there. Check it out, I know it's barely "street legal", but one of the pictures ( #4…) might explain a few things. Just saying….. On a scale of 1 - 10 on the "Cool Meter", this rates about a 47……enjoy!
  19. And it pulls like a freight train! My boss always tells us "Beat on them a bit! That's what the customer is going to do. If something breaks, let US break it and NOT the customer!." So I was forced to go through the gears like Ronnie Sox and make sure "Nothing broke". My boss drove it home yesterday and my cell phone didn't ring (yet….) so I guess it's going home tomorrow. And the customer drops of the NEXT one we're doing; `68 Coronet with no fender tag or build sheet. This one he might want a 6.1 Hemi swap. Details to follow…..
  20. It's fun dealing with our customers. They get excited over modifying their cars and we have a ball building them. Granted, rusted, broken, or previously "hacked" repairs can make for a busy day, but the end results give a sense of satisfaction & pride. Aside from a long & slow commute some nights (it can take an hour and a half to cover 25 miles…..with every alternate route crawling too at that hour) but it's a small trade-off. We had one mechanic that was getting under everyone skin whom is leaving Friday and his replacement is a sweetheart that worked there before, so our work environment will improve some. I hope someone enjoys these posts…. some cool stuff rolling out there.
  21. This car was damaged in transit from an on-line auction purchase. Customer decided "screw it, paint the whole car". This was stripped to the shell and re-painted top to bottom and all the mistakes corrected. It's an original V code 44-6bbl, 4 speed, Dana, Air Grabber hood. Nice car. The gentleman who owns this car is picking it up Monday and dropping off his `68 Coronet for some minor cosmetic repairs. This winter it's getting dropped off for a possible Hemi and Tremec 5 speed upgrade, along w/ discs & suspension modifications. Can't wait!
  22. This one is almost ready to go home. Just returned from the upholstery shop. Lowered, 4 wheel discs, paint, wheels, and interior. It comes back this winter for an engine upgrade.
  23. Don't know where to begin on this one….. Sonny Bryant 1,000 horse power plant, Lenco, molded-in roll cage, polished everything. Absolutely top-shelf, no expense spared build. Group picture of the entire staff…..
