  1. Came in totally stock including straight 6, 3speed on the column, and drum brakes. Went home with a 350/auto overdrive, disc brakes, A/C, coil overs w/ rack & pinion, 4 link rear.
  2. 1969 GTO: Tremec 5 speed conversion, four wheel discs, dropped suspension, full custom exhaust from heads to tips.
  3. I'm so happy I'm able to do this. And as much as I don't like Vegas, I'm going to love this trip.
  4. I'm going with a crazy cousin who's a retired NYC detective. To say it's going to be fun is an understatement. And because I've sent my Wife skiing with her Dad twice in Utah, I get to roll solo on this trip. My Boss already warned me that 5 hours will seem like 10 minutes it's so overwhelming. Yeah, definitely a Bucket List gig. Now to make plans for next years Woodward Dream Cruise. Amy wants to do that one…..
  5. Last night I found out I'm going to the SEMA show in Las Vegas through my shop. To say I'm looking forward to it is a huge understatement. It may be 3 months away, but I can't wait. Details to follow.
  6. Wish Revell would dig out some of the old Bike Parts Packs…..
  7. More than 30 yrs. ago I owned this. 1835CC `68 swing axle Baja. I had quiet possibly then ONLY Holley Bug Spray 2 Bbl. that actually worked! PLEASE cast these engines!!!! I must build this car!! A picture of a picture of a much younger John….. if I could only go back in time to THAT DAY.
  8. Some incredible builds & photography! I'll add a few too:
  9. Stunning….absolutely stunning. Congrats!
  10. Now that Replicas & Minatures has a REAL Baja Bug casting, I need to build a replica of my old `68 Baja I had in the 80's. Plus a VW drag car I had mentioned previously. Please, make this happen! This is indeed a long overdue detail for the VW guys.
  11. Thank you for not just priming it. Nice paint work, nice top treatment. Excellent wheel choice. Clean build, I like it!
  12. Me too. I hate when a seller plays the "secret" reserve game. More often than not, I pass for that reason alone. If I ask you HOW MUCH YOU WANT FOR IT let the bidders know! I'm not bidding on something worth $20 if the seller is dreaming about $200….
  13. Yes, we'd all like updates. I know it's summer and staying indoors building bites, but it IS a sweet project. I myself have a few drag car ideas festering in my head. Give me inspiration!
  14. Many years ago I remember seeing a candid shot of Steve rebuilding a vintage aluminum block hi-po slant six. In his kitchen. Dude is IN the game. I met him at Englishtown last summer. Nice guy!
  15. Watching the video after I posted it I noticed two things. First, I had changed the directional switch and never centered the steering wheel after the repair. I'll do that tomorrow. And the second thing is you can hear a barking dog as I'm driving in the beginning of the clip. It was my Wife calling my cell phone….. As for the sound, I'm running ceramic coated TTI headers into a 2 1/2" X pipe system with Classic Chambered mufflers and oval MEGS tips. When I really stand on it it sounds like the gates of Hell have opened.
  16. I suddenly have the urge just to call and say "hi"……. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Altered-Wheelbase-57-Chevy-Bel-Air-with-Magic-Wheelie-Stance-/331268564703?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4d212526df
  17. Want TWO ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-SMP-1911-Chevrolet-Promo-1-25-Issued-1962-Original-Lot-of-2-Cars-Rare-/191256927660?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2c87cd1dac
  18. I had a few good tips recently so I treated myself to a new toy. I bought an ION Air Pro sports camera. It's the original version with 2 newer, higher priced versions available. I scored this on eBay for $96 with all accessories. I fabricated a nice, neat mount on the right side headrest uprights and the camera sits right in the middle. I still have to figure out how to sync it with my laptop so I can set volume levels and so forth. But anyway, let's go for a ride back to my place……
  19. That's asking for trouble with me…… my head would explode.
  20. Tonight I'm actually sitting down watching the Met game in the recliner relaxing. I'm also starting to think about this years project. It seems I manage to get one decent build done a year. Started with the pre-painted Edsel, then I did some scratchy-building on the Woody and last year I tackled the Barracuda. I'll definitely finish the Pink `70 Hemi Cuda `vert before I start a project-build, but I'm undecided. One thing I know for sure, it's gonna be a drag car. Just don't know in what direction. But I also have an incredibly cool street rod idea too. Something totally original and it's killing me to build it. But slicks and roll cages are cool too. Hmmm…..
  21. I saw a plain old 4 door `57 Chevy station wagon cruising along in rush hour traffic yesterday. Rallye wheels and tinted windows…. just humming along.
  22. WHOA! That's a seriously twisted idea. I love it! You got us hooked…. more. Please.
  23. IIRC, Turbine Bronze was the rarest regular-production Mopar color. Looks great on the Daytona, cool build!
  24. I almost died several times in a `68 swing-axle Baja back in the 80's. I loved that car. I must build one.
  25. Nice job under hood. The paint & vinyl top look very in-scale and accurate. Really nice build considering your still "knocking the rust off".
