  1. Hi guys, At tonight’s meeting, our model car club members will be voting on next year’s theme classes for the 6th Annual Table Top Nationals. Last meeting we narrowed it down from eleven to six choices. Tonight we decide the two winners. I'm curious how our voting will compare to the masses. The choices are: 1. Station Wagons. Any wagon, any kind of build. 2. Gassers Real or phantom, in the drag racing style. 3. Vans Any van, custom, work, soccer mom.... etc. 4. Fat Fenders 1935 - 1948... some exceptions may be OK. (To be discussed at the meeting before we vote) 5. Show Rods think Tom Danials, Roth, Barris or Ala Kart, Horn Toad, Tijuana Taxi... etc 6. Sedan Deliveries Any Sedan Deliveries, any kind of build. Thanks for participating, and comments are welcome Jefbo PS I hope I did it right
  2. Good morning, One of the perks to being a car guy living on South Beach is all the exotic cars you come across. Yesterday with my son, it was a beautiful Audi R8. This morning, taking my son to school, parked on my block , in front of my neighbors’ house... Bugatti Veyron! OK... Kit it.... I'll buy it. First one I've seen that wasn't two-tone. I like it! Jefbo
  3. Hi all, This is my first Truck Build. Size was pretty intimidating at first. I don’t know much about trucks so I had to do a lot of research. She's about 90% done. I still need to add airlines and some plumbing & wiring. Also need to rub out the clear. Oh yeah... I just found the shifter I dropped on the floor 4 months ago, so I can add that. I don't know what happened to the middle of the build photos I did enter it in a contest that had a "big Rig" theme class, and won first place OK... It was the only big rig entered Jefbo
  4. Hi Virgil, Yes we do have a model car club in the area, and I would be more then happy to give you all the info you need. We meet twice a month in Broward County. We also have unofficial meetings every Thursday night "Thursday Night Crash and Burn" here on the beach at my house. We sit around the dinning room table talking cars and building models. Just a small group of about 3 to 5 guys, but lots of fun. I just joined this board and I'm learning on the fly how to do things. I just started a Fotki account and will be building that as I go also. My next goal is to learn how to post photos from my Fotki site without having to upload it to the forum site. Feel free to e-mail me if you wamt me to give you more club info or I could call you if you wish. Jefbo
  5. Oh, man, I love it . . . the pictures are a little burry, but the model kicks @#$! And you are in Miami Beach . . . very cool. I'm over in Key Biscayne . . . great to know there are other rat rod fanatics in South Florida! Thanks for the kind words. Sorry about the blurry photos, I captured them with my video camera. It's not the same. I’ll retake and post better photos soon. I was admiring your monster Merc yesterday and completely missed the Key Biscayne part. I love rat rods, and there are a couple of guys in my model car club that build incredible rat rods. In one of our model car shows recently, one of the theme classes was rat rods. Rat rod by Allen R. Rat Rod by Jose F I hope to get a chance to see you work in person some day soon. Jefbo
  6. I allways have a bunch of models working at the same time. This is what I was working on today. I don't know what resin kit it is. It was a surprise in a kit box from a collection I bought. It had a chop but I decided it needed more attitude so I gave it a little more of an angle chop. I also opened doors and roof. I started it about a year ago inspired by a blue car I saw in a magazine. I just repainted it after being inspired by a car I saw recently in a magazine Jefbo
  7. Thanks guys, you found some that I have not. You're right, info on this truck has been more of a challenge than I'm used to. jefbo
  8. I just Started on mine. I spent the first night with a #11 blade cleaning flash off all the parts. So far the parts have gone together well, but I've only put the engine together so far. Jefbo
  9. Nice build! I just started working a L-700 myself. I'm having a hard time finding ref. photos. I've serched the web and some members fotki sites with no luck. Have you any guidence for this tired modeler? Thanks, jefbo
  10. I'm new to truck modeling. I built my first a few months back. I have started my next truck project. The Lindberg Dodge L-700 as a car transport for all my hemi 'cuda models and I have had very little luck with the usual on line searches. I would really like photos of the engine and bay areas but I could use anything. Thanks, jefbo
  11. Well... I just found a 1:1 truck reference photo category on this forum. I will post there too.

  13. At my modeling desk, I have a small TV that's always on. I tend to put on stuff that I have see many times before. I don't watch the TV for the most part. I also watch those sporting events (not my teams) that I might not normally watch. Looking up for the occasional replay. And quite often I will put on Deep Tracks and just listen to music. But the Best noise is Thursday nights, when I invite my modeling buddies over, and we sit around my dinning room table building & shooting the bull. Non-stop... It's great!
  14. Very Nice! I have got to get off my butt and build a 1/25 bike.
