Wow! This is unbelievably over the top.

Well it has been a long time since I posted any progress. I have all the parts fabricated and now it is time to start painting all the parts. Here is the interior pieces. I'm using the dash board and steering wheel out of the 40 Ford. The side panels are made from striped plastic sheet and the top of the door panels are from the kit. With opening the trunk up I had to scratchbuild the side panels, top of the trunk and the floor. Since I shorted up the grill I scratchbuilt a new radiator.

Here is my attempt at a traditional style 32 Ford. I started with the kit chassis and modified it to allow for the 40 Ford X bracing. I then added rear spring support from the 29 Ford. I cut off the kit front horns and made my own. I also made the motor mounts from sheet plastic. On to the body I cut the trunk open and I'm going to use the louvered trunk from the newer 5 window kit. I added the firewall from the AMT conv. vicky kit to somewhat represent a stockish firewall. Here is where I'm at with motor right now. I've machined a few parts for the motor. Here is a quick mock up of the car. Thanks for looking.

She is doing wonderful. I have very fond memories sitting at the workbench with my dad. This is something that I'm wanting to do with my daughter. She is a little too young right now but in a year or two she will have a spot with me at the workbench.

The corvette is looking really good.

Terry it is in 1/25th scale. Also vintagedragfan the wheels are 3 piece. The outer rim was machined from aluminum pipe and then the two center pieces. The spokes is separate from the cap. I'll get some pictures to show you.

Thanks! I'm using a sherline lathe and mill. I learn a lot from my dad, who also builds models. Also I did a lot of playing with it. There is still a lot to learn. If you have any questions, I'll answer them the best that I can.

Thank you all! I'll be sharing a lot of the ideas that I have in my head with this one.

Here is one of the door panels that I started. This model is the first time that I have tried to do my own photoetch. I have a little tweaking to do to get it where I like it.The brass that you see is to simulate ostrich skin. Also you will see that I did a BOSE script for the speaker.

Here is the motor that building for the Willy's. It is the kit block and tranny. Just about all the rest is scratchbuilt and aftermarket. I have some pieces to put back together here on the motor that fell off.

I'm getting back to this 41 Willys that I started almost 10 years ago. My plan is to have it ready for the Toledo NNL show this year. I opened the doors to begin with. I used the kits engine and tranny and began to modify from there. Now this car has been sitting in the box for about 8 years. I pulled it out the other night and started to take pictures of where I was at. I have machined a lot of pieces for this car. I still have a lot more to machine. By the way I've searched and can't find how to post multiple photobucket pictures on one post. Any help would be appriecated.

Here is a picture of the wheels and tires that I'm using. They are from the 29 Ford rat rod kit. I machined the cap out of aluminum.
