It's been 50 years since I last felt the 70s vibe but it hit me like a ton of bricks after seeing the van. Only one sums the van itself,

I was finally able to set up an appointment with my mechanic for Friday to have my trusty 97 Accord's oil changed and other other routine maintenance work done. His shop was going full tilt for over the last couple of weeks.

They look like the real things right down to the exposed metal where the paint has worn off from constant usage. SWEET!

Work on the 62 Buick convertible is on hold for now as I wait for a couple of parts. I turned my attention to a problem that I never thought I'd have. The bracket on my 72 Chevy Pickup was missing the tow post (Not the ball) that I was going to attach the recently acquired utility trailer to. I got a tooth pick and found that it was exactly the same diameter as the hole on the trailer's tongue. After cutting a piece out of the toothpick, I glued it to the bracket on the pickup and it worked. The trailer is securely attached it. I don't have photos to upload it to show but I'm sure you guys could picture it.

I'm looking for one for a 1962 Buick Electra by AMT that's currently undergoing a semi restoration. I attempted to carefully remove a bear that was glued to the original but the top broke in half with the bear still attached to one of the pieces. I'm also looking for two screws to attach the chassis to the body via the posts. Will trade. Thanks.

Welcome aboard Steve. We have a great crew here.

The 62 Buick Electra convertible arrived in the mail while I was at work and a neighbor held onto it for safe keeping until I got home. First thing was to give it a complete bath and it cleaned up real nice and the paint job was surprisingly decent given it was done by a rookie. Next was I ditched the hideous front end pictured above and the custom rear panel. Both will be replaced with the stock units along with taking care of other quarks. I'll upload pictures when it's complete

Since I bought the 62 Buick Electra convertible from E Bay over the weekend as my next project, I've gotten slammed with 11 offers to buy builds at reduced prices that I haven't even looked at. I turned them all down. It's like having to deal with used car salesmen who use high pressure sales tactics on anybody who's just walking past their lots.

I always forget to log out when I'm done.

The latest from E Bay. It's an amateur build 62 Buick Electra 225 convertible. It's hideous looking especially the front end but thankfully, I have the majority of the replacement parts including the stock one piece front bumper/grill and rear bumper. I'll start on this once the work on the Hubley 60 Ford sedan is done. The first thing is to give it a bath once it arrives.

"SWEET" is the only word that comes to mind. We can't wait to see when it's complete.

A small box of spare parts for two nice rebuilders arrived in the mail at my house just a short time ago from the same E Bay vendor in Seattle that I recently got the Lotus racer from. I didn't have them in my parts stash but he certainly did and cheap to boot.

That's IMC, who made some really cool kits of interesting cars, but widely bashed as "too fiddly" and "unbuildable".
Many have been re-released over the years under other labels, including Union and Testors.
While they were indeed challenging, in the hands of skilled modelers, they could turn out stellar models.
Thanks Bill. I do recall that IMC was out of Troy Michigan like AMT was.

The Lotus racer that I got from E Bay will come with it's original box and what I found about it came as a surprise. It was made by a company that I haven't even heard of called "Industro-Motive. I did some online detective work and all I could find on it was that it was based in Troy Michigan like AMT was and it only had a brief existence back in the 60s. If anybody is familiar with the company's history, please feel free to share.

Welcome to the gang John. Lost of good members here and helpful to boot.

My latest acquisition of off E Bay from a great vendor out of Seattle that I've been doing business with for a long time and for a song. It'll look good on a vintage trailer that's hooked to a nicely built 65 Chevy El Camino that I got from the same vendor eons ago. Here it is from E Bay.

The school kids have next week off so I'll be taking it easy as I resume a couple of model car projects that I had to put on hold because of my job and other things that needed attention.
