That's IMC, who made some really cool kits of interesting cars, but widely bashed as "too fiddly" and "unbuildable".

Many have been re-released over the years under other labels, including Union and Testors.

While they were indeed challenging, in the hands of skilled modelers, they could turn out stellar models.

Thanks Bill. I do recall that IMC was out of Troy Michigan like AMT was.

  2. The Lotus racer that I got from E Bay will come with it's original box and what I found about it came as a surprise. It was made by a company that I haven't even heard of called "Industro-Motive. I did some online detective work and all I could find on it was that it was based in Troy Michigan like AMT was and it only had a brief existence back in the 60s. If anybody is familiar with the company's history, please feel free to share.

  3. The trailer that I got from E Bay last month bounced between post offices around the Boston Metro area for a few days like a rubber ball before the USPS finally got it's act right and sent it to my address. I kept the seller in the loop until I could leave him a positive feedback. He said he's never heard anything like before as an E Bay vendor.

Despite the blurry images it's definitely the Revell '62 Plymouth Fury (Revell's '62 Dodge Dart tooling was sacrificed in order to make the Revellion).

I'm absolutely stoked by the thought of seeing the Revell '62 Mopars reissued and will buy them by the crate if I get the chance!

The boxes casually stacked in the background are every bit as exciting as the Mopar test shots, though. We already know, that Atlantis acquired the tooling for Revell's Tri-Five Chevies (Affectionately named "The Unbuildables" for their challenging assembly design), so it's hardly surprising to see a stack of boxes from the previous issues of the kits.

However we also find the old Monogram box for Tom Daniel's "California Street 'Vette" hiding in plain sight!

It's previously been discussed somewhere on this forum that Tom had a grudge against the former Revell/Monogram management over some licensing/royalty-issues, effectively ruling out any reissues of his designs by Revell/Monogram. Atlantis has since acquired the necessary licensing to reissue several Monogram Tom Daniel kits in their tooling bank.

It's gonna be interesting to see if this is an indication that Atlantis has in fact acquired all of the tooling enabling them to reissue the desirable California Street 'Vette kit, which was a replica of Tom's personal car.

I saw the box of the California Street Vette in the photo. It's another Tom Daniels creation. I thought of that a couple of time before.

  5. Thank you for taking the time out to take photos of those old buildings and cars Brain. I had a chance to look over the photos of old gas stations in another thread that you took photos of that were just as cool.

  6. My late dad had a side job pumping gas at a Sinclair station years ago that a friend of his managed. It was located on Riverside Ave, In Medford Mass. It had the company's mascot Dino The Dinosaur painted on the roof of the station. The station is still there to this day but it's a it's a self serve Sunoco. I miss the old school stations.

  7. Everytime I browse through the built model car section of EBay with no intention of buying, i get hit with offers of buying a car at a lower price than what the seller wants some I haven't even looked at. This weekend alone, I got with nine offers. I'm just deleting them as fast as they pop up. It's like dealing with used car salesmen who use high pressure sale tactics on anybody who is just walking past their lots.

  8. The trailer that I got from E Bay has been bounced around post offices in and around the Boston Metro Area since Saturday night courtesy of the USPS. I was suppose to have gotten it today. Now, the :"Estimated" day of arrival according to the tracking number that was provided by the seller is Wednesday. I informed him on what's going on in case he asks on why no feedback was left. I told him it was no fault of his own. He understood.
