Today was the last day for the school kids so I'll be kicking back from driving my school bus until a week from next Monday when summer camp starts up. (I work for a family owned company) In addition, two dusty model cars that are rebuilders arrived this morning in the mail after I scored both on the cheap off EBay. Both are designated as my next projects.

Multiple choice question. What's s school bus driver's most important piece of equipment?
a) Lights
b) Brakes
c) Horn
d) A bottle of Extra Strength Tylenol

I'm still wondering why so many military subject model kits get lumped in with the automotive stuff.
I guess eBay uses the "supermarket" business model, where they move items around the store every so often. The longer they keep you in the store, the more you are likely to spend...
I was searching for my next model car project on EBay when I saw lots of military vehicles myself listed in the automotive section. They should have their own.

I just scored two vintage and very dusty rebuilders from a local E Bayer on the cheap which are a 1940 Ford delivery truck and a 1972 GMC stepside pickup both from AMT. They'll be at my place before Friday.

The patina looks great on the car. Like peanut butter and jelly.

One word sums it all up. "Greed"

I got through with the last two of a batch of built cars that need minor reassembly last week. Some needed the kit bashing approach but they all look good. I'm now looking for another project or two to work on myself. I'll look on E Bay this week sometime.

Around 4 AM this morning as I and other residents were sleeping, a drunk was wandering around the floor of my apartment building banging on people's doors including mine as he was screaming to no end. The police came quickly after someone called them and the drunk was wisked away in cuffs. My building is normally quiet with the vast majority of the residents who are decent and have jobs. What happened this morning is a rare occurrence thankfully.

I have a extended cab and regular long bed which are promos and a built stepside which I bought some years ago but no short bed. However, now that it's out, I'll snag the shortbed sometime this weekend.

Many of California's laws and arcane regulations are beyond idiotic, and that fact tops the reason-list I elected to move to Az. instead.
But the folks who've ruined Cali don't like it now and are moving elsewhere...taking their irrational mommy-state mentality with them, and doing their level best to ruin wherever they move to by creating a new endless morass of ridiculous laws...too stupid to realize that's what ruined the place they left in the first place..
Even here in my Blue state of Massachusetts, the locals are not quite that fond of the Cali folks who drove here. They drive like maniacs.

I can't understand the reasons why California has so many laws and regulations covering emissions. There's enough to fill an old phone book. Here in Massachusetts, once a vehicle reaches the age of 15 years. it's exempted from the emissions test but is still required to undergo the annual safety inspection.

I built the factory version of the Monogram Capri II years ago straight out of the box and when it was molded in black. Like Dave Van, I'm wondering myself if Atlantis has the tooling for the kit. Hopefully, Atlantis is in contact with Ford about working out a licensing deal for the car and other Ford kits.

I'll be working on the last two of two dozen built model cars today that only need minor reassembly. Both will need the kit bashing treatment but I have suitable replacement parts on hand. After that, Who knows.

I was on my way to work early this morning when I heard a loud pop coming from underneath my Honda Accord and then a loud roar. I limped it to my mechanic's shop which thankfully isn't that far from my work place. He called me later in the day and said that the entire exhaust system from the cat back was coming apart from the rust and that the car will be in his shop until he can round up the replacement parts tomorrow. It won't be cheap according to him. Thankfully though , I made it to work on time.

I'm finally started to get out of my modeling slump and started to work on a couple of built cars of over a dozen that I've been neglecting for a while due to my schedule at work and other things going on. Nothing big. They just need minor reassembling each. It's my weekend off and have all the time I need.

I stopped building a few years ago and concentrated on buying complete model cars and others that I can fix using the kit bashing method and I've been slumping on the latter for quite sometime now. I have over two dozen cars that only need minor assembly but with the workload at my job and other things going on in my life, I don't have the time or energy to get to them even on my days off but I haven't forgotten about them.

Hopefully the occupants came though it OK.

I deleted a link by accident that was e mailed to me and I wanted to share it everybody. It said that I can have a flying drone for free and all I had to do was pay the shipping. I didn't bite at all. After some digging, I discovered the e-mail originated in Nigeria.
Greed is something that's not needed.

I'd like to wish all of my fellow modelers here at MCMF and their respective families a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend.

She will certainly be missed. She was so full of energy as she toured while promoting her award winning album "Private Dancer" way back in the mid 1980s.

I've managed to obtain a replacement tire and hub cap locally guys. The help is appreciated. I'll be more specific the next time when I need a part. My apologies for any confusion on my end.

I have original kit tires and wheel covers as well as rims, etc. I'm not quite sure what you mean by chrome outer wheel. Are you looking for a stock wheel cover or is it possibly a promo? -Rich
It was the stock wheel cover Rich. Sorry about the confusion.

I'm the same way myself. Nothing wrong with being old school.
