  1. Just got the answer. New molds being made.
  2. I've been looking for a couple of the MCG - 2155 carb kits. From what I've found it would seem they have been discontinued. Does anyone have any more info? Model car garage still lists them but as out-of-stock.
  3. In the case of my 1:1 build I did not have access to a dropped front axle and so necessitated the z at the front. Didn't mention that in my post.
  4. To achieve the stance shown in the photo would require the 32 frame and it also would need to be z'd. That's what I did on my 1:1 build back in the late 50's. A frame depth z at the front of the body and a more radical z in the rear to get the rear axle clearance. You end up with a very deep driveshaft tunnel.
  5. FWIW - I recently stripped several parts that had both enamel and lacquer paints on them. I used Clean Slate rmvr 2.0. Soaked the parts overnight and brushed the paint off with a soft tooth brush. Needed a second soaking for some stubborn areas but the parts came out fine. Not saying it works for all finishes.
  6. Aha, that's the reason. I have the custom version. Many thanks for the info. The originals were not included in the one I got.
  7. I recently purchased a 50 Olds coupe model to get the early v8 engine for another project. The engine was correct as a 303 configuration but the kit contained some finned, chromed valve covers rather than the original style ribbed ones although one illustration in the instructions showed the original style. I'm wondering if the original style was ever offered and if not is there another source. I'd try to modify ones that I have but the ribbed style is difficult to duplicate especially with the separate plug wire loom strip that bolted on top. Is there another kit that has the originals?
  8. Alclad 11 Chrome and Polished Aluminum are also alcohol based. They recommend using their Aqua Gloss Clear over those as a sealer before any topcoat. That may work for the Molotow pen as well.
  9. New here. Just found a new interest in this hobby after about 5 decades absence. Finding volumes of things to learn on this forum. Always been kind of a car nut but not much involvement for many years. Hoping to do a few models of cars I have owned in the past such as the Trumpeter 60 Pontiac, 29 Ford street rod, 37 Ford coupe, and more. Was trying to buy a Pontiac about 15 years ago to restore but didn't succeed. Purchased the model thinking to duplicate my intentions, started, but ended up putting on the shelf. Now with an excess of time taking another look. I certainly appreciate all the info available on this forum. Best regards, Gary from northern Texas.
