the paint is amazing

I grew up in Michigan and had a lot of references on rusted cars

I was going to add some holes in the floor but ran out of time. I finished it last Friday night before heading over to the show.

What started as a White 70 Monte Carlo SS project and when the paint was messed up and stripped I couldn’t get the body fully clean to repaint it so the restoration project began. Added a vinyl top, opened the trunk and doors, the passenger door was beyond repair so added a new one and yet to install the interior door panel. Well worn seats and dirty seatbelts along with a headliner that has seen better days. The engine could use a good cleaning also.

Sorry didn't meet the deadline I've been out with a knee injury not allowing me to sit at the bench. I am finally able to sit for a while. I have CSX 2127 engine done so far and the suspension is next. I managed to get the throttle linkage stuffed in between the carbs but you cant see much of it now with the carbs installed.

Sorry I've been out sick; my club posted the flyer on another thread here. I copied it and if you haven't seen it yet here it is.

I can have someone post a flyer for the show, but our Facebook page is RIFF-RAFF scale auto model car club if that helps.

What started out as a kit bought for just the engine, turned out to be a pretty good kit. I bought this Monogram 2004 Corvette Z06 to use the engine for another kit I was doing but then decided to build it. I cut the drivers door and trunk open also opened the headlights.

I used some 1/48 aircraft engine decals from Airscale, I found they look almost like the original weber ones. -
The paint is amazing great shine on it.

1963 Sebring Corvette

Accurate Miniatures 1963 Corvette Grand Sport. Really enjoyed doing this model, started by filling the frame tubes gaps, moving the battery from the front to the correct rear trunk area position. Opening the trunk and brake booster reservoir access door. Added brake and fuel lines. Redid the hubs to add the knock off hubs along with alignment pins and valve stems in the rims. The interior drilled out the instrumentation panel adding gauge decals with clear glue over them and .020 wire for the switches. The engine started with spark plug and distributer wiring and steel braided fuel line but changed to smaller fuel lines. Also added throttle linkages. Brake lines and air jacks also added. -
I finished the unofficial #4 Corvette Grand Sport. I changed up the seatbelts, didn't add the extra coolers to the rear fenders and kept the original single cooler. I cut the trunk and the service door for the brake booster open, moved the battery from the front of the car to the correct trunk area. filled in the bottom of the frame, added brake and fuel lines to the dual fuel pumps. made the knock off hubs and added alignment pins for the rims that also have holes for the pins and valve stems. I first added braided fuel lines to the engine but didn't like them and went to smaller black braided fuel lines that come off the fuel pressure regulator.

Those are the carbs that came with the kit, I painted them flat aluminum and the velocity stacks Alclad 2 polished aluminum. This kit comes with the fittings for the air jacks and oil filler on the right fender that Jim Hall installed at Chaparral after Roger sent the car to him. I do not want to cover and fill over them and since there is a #4 Penske/Hall Corvette being built, I will bow out of this build. thanks

My build is the Accurate Miniatures 1963 Grand Sport. I’ve had it in my stash for many years and with ACME show coming up in October with the Corvette theme wanted to start it up. Started to research the #4 Corvette that was driven by Jim Hall and Roger Penske. This kit looked somewhat basic for detail but is pretty nice. I started with the engine with plans to install throttle linkages and fuel lines.
