Just scrolling on here and saw this car and what a fantastic build! I can't believe that model is that old! Fantastic work. That ole gal has aged well. Your work on this car is fantastic. Well done!

Yeah, I think the trick is to not over do it which is really easy to do. I've seen some models that while the tires do look good, the tires are way overdone.

Thank you! Those tires are from Hurd Hobbies. Sanded them down, sprayed them flat black, and then added some spices from my wife's stash in the kitchen. Sprinkle some spices in the ole paint cap with some flat black and then brush on the mixture. I also added some Tamiya weathering to the tires once everything was dried.

Thanks! It wasn't hard to assemble but I made it hard by re-doing some things on the car if that makes sense. You can build these box stock and they aren't that hard once you get the feel for it.

Paint, TS-13, applied the decals, let them cure for a few days and then brushed on future floor polish. After that dried, I polish them a little to even things out. Works for the applications that I use it for which are shelf builds. Hope these pics give you a good reference. I guess the key is to be patient after every layer. I know some folks prefer really shiny models and those are really nice too but for what I am building right now (short track mods), this application works for me.

Thanks! Yes the real car is the same. I tried to get it as close as I could. The pic was taken at Caraway Speedway last fall. The red on my model isn't as bright as it seems. The camera and lighting brightened it up a little.
