Since this is the what irks you page and it's not my intention to stir up trouble by talking about such a sore and restricted subject but I want to bring attention to an observation of mine with Covid and dementia. I know a lot of us here are not youngsters and some many have preexisting medical issues that can cause severe complications to us or our family members. That being said my warning is to those of us who may be dealing with a family member who may have Dementia or Alzheimer's. My dad was diagnosed almost a year ago with dementia. Recently he and I had come in contact with the Covid virus. I being in decent health weathered it well but my dad not so much. I saw a mental decline in a matter of a few days. He has become more confused and at times completely dumbfounded. He has started to make grunting noises instead of talking although he can still talk, he has completely forgotten how to bathe, all within a few days..? So my warning is please be very careful and to use every precaution not to bring this virus to our elderly family members. There may not be a good outcome for them. Thanks for hearing me and I hope everyone stays safe.. Mike

Question Pete..?.. Does that mean gift cards are out of the equation for payment on those bandit decals? Lol.. And I couldn't have said any better than you just did on the celebrity and sports bs.. They need us to live that life style, we don't need them. I left the games long ago...✌?

Today's irk or let down.. As I've said before I do use eBay and I've never had any issues. That changed this morning when I saw the new release of the AMT '65 Chevelle awb was available. $29.99 + $10.00 shipping... Sounded doable to me. long story short.. I bought it.. With in the hour the seller had refunded the total amount due to I had apparently bought the last one and it was badly damaged.. What a bummer..?

I've been hunting on eBay but no luck as of yet. The cheapest kit is more than i want to pay for the grille and I haven't seen any gluebombs either. I have patience and I'll score one sooner or later. It was just such a let down that it was missing from a new sealed kit.. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hey TJ.. Sorry I had forgotten to tap the follow button so I had no idea a question was asked. The chrome tree is from the AMT Sunbeam Tiger kit.

Not making light of the subject but the whole scenario could make an interesting diorama. Just a thought..so many options. The thugs would definitely be in a patty wagon heading off for the justice they so deserve!

I can't argue the fact there are some down right ridiculous prices on some listed model kits on ebay and yes the price of shipping has gotten way out of hand too ? if you allow it. Since my home town family owned hobby closed their doors years ago and no one else other than my local Michaels which has over priced kits I have no choice but to buy kits from ebay, model round up and other online stores. Thankfully my local Wal-Mart has started selling newly issued model kits at a fair price. I still find that I can usually buy from eBay cheaper on the newly issued kits. As for vintage kits.. Same thing.. Ebay. If it wasn't for certain circumstances that doesn't allow me the time to go to, I'd be traveling to the model shows / swap meets to buy those vintage kits on my list of must haves. ? Just for the record... No I'm not a prisoner in jail.. ? No No No, I'm a 24/7 care taker of my 98 yr. old Dad. In fact I've got two kits in route from eBay now that were both free shipping and under $25.00 each. A '70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro and a '78 El Camino 3'n1 kit. Still haven't pull the trigger on the reissued Evil iron trike kit yet but I will as soon as I find a good deal. I had that kit as a kid.

Call it what you will but if you're in need of a nice promo box for that yellow beast eBay has one as a buy now. Under $20 bucks + shipping. I thought I'd throw that out since I remembered seeing your posted promos. ✌?

another two deliveries from eBay showed up today. The '66 rambler station wagon from AJ's vintage model car parts on eBay will more than likely be mated with the AMT '65 Chevelle El Camino chassis, rims and slicks to make it a grocery getter. Those wheel bases seem to match up both width and length perfectly. The AMT Gremlin F/C kit will go on the shelf till later. I had been following that kit for well over a year. ✌? Back to the gotta have it list..Next!

Nice score from your local marketplace, it can be a great place for possible deals. Yesterday when I went shopping at my local walmart I was flabbergasted when I saw that they are now selling model kits and at decent prices. I had to pick up the reissue of the AMT '55 Chevy nomad wagon.

My eBay purchase arrived today. I knew that when I had purchased it the cellophane was partially torn but not enough that the kit contents could have been tampered with. Being that I have this inquisitive nature I had to open it just to see what color the kit was moulded in. To my surprise it was yellow instead of the blue or green that I've seen them in before. Anyway... Upon farther inspection of the contents I found that the kit had an extra chrome rim laying in the bottom but was missing part of the lower seatbelt assembly from the tree. No big deal but I was wondering has anyone else had this type of experience when opening a vintage kit?

After going back to look at exactly what I've got to work with it appears that a rod would workout better in this situation. I attach 2 photos.. Not happy that I found both pillars had been broken once..? that could be under the what irked me today topic.. Anyway the pillars have a concave channel that runs the length of them making the rod a perfect choice. Time to order some rod or take a look at my electrical wire remnants.

Thanks Les for the info. I think I'll stick to your styrene dust method. Since its an older kit I'm guessing it best use the plastic filings from that kits leftover trees. Not sure if it even matters but I'll play it safe. Thanks Greg for the warning.. It's best to learn from one's own mistakes but I never turn an ear away to listen to someone else's.

I know I saw somewhere here a topic where someone suggested using super glue and adding either baking soda or powder to create a stronger bond? I've looked and I can not seem to find it again. Anyone? I have a cracked window pillar that is snapped off at top and bottom. One break is a clean break but the other break has a very small chip missing. Thanks in advance..

1. Just watching the morning news is enough to get my britches in an uproar! 2. Dealing with my dementia riddled dad and watching him slowly fade from normalcy. 3. Buying a sealed model kit that's no longer available and finding that the factory sealed chrome tree is missing the grille! See attached photo. Other than these... Life is usually good

AMT 1/25 2021 Bronco First Edition
A modeler named mike replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I like the kit and I will more than likely purchase one when I find a good deal on one. What gets me is the price of the curbside kits... like the new AMT Surf Shark caddie wagon and the AMT Mercury comet Caliente' when they first came out they were pricey, now that the hype is over they've come down substantially. I'm sure the same will go with this kit too. -

Love the VW combo. I saw a 1:1 photo of a similar concept. On my list of future projects. Good job!
