  1. If this service is a paid for service then I would have to can their butt and find a new provider of that same service. I personally have no problem calling out BS and eliminating it. Not on my dime!
  2. Today's first pleasing came by way of an offer being accepted for a kit that I normally wouldn't give a second look, 1/32 BZ-38 Reflueller. Thanks to Pat W. and his last cool MiniArt kit purchase by his wife my model kit list of must haves has been expanded. Even though it's not the kit I had originally been looking at I had to have it and it was cheaper than they normally cost. Thanks Pat & the misses.
  3. Same goes for caulk and wood glue.. Neither intended for the mouth but somehow it manages to get there... Silly fingers..?
  4. I use the could of been worse train of thought quite a bit and also the bite my tongue method too. Always followed up a few minutes of unwind time to alleviate the stress. ? paint in my eyes.. Nope I never ever had that happen ?? burns at first and makes ya tear up. Oh by BTW it doesn't taste good either.. ? just saying!
  5. I used to not be.. but now living with my dad and his pal dementia I've learned to deal with many things unimaginable to most with laughter or a more silly side. If not ? life could be miserable or even unbearable. Neither are an option!
  6. When I first saw your horrifying dilemma my mind went immediately to you could always join the "The Blue Man Group". But I didn't have the heart. I too have ruined a pair of two of prescription glasses from either walking into the mist or from the splashed droplets that occurred while pouring lacquer into the cup on my spray gun at work. Never anything to your level of coverage though. Try waxing? Maybe some of the non chemical strippers used on models? If the glasses are trash what's to lose?
  7. Oh.. I like that thought! I'll have to use that one on my wife the next time she barks about me buying another kit! ?
  8. You sparked an interest that I had to check out. Miniart carries some pretty neat vehicles. I especially like the tow truck, 3-wheeled Tempo A400 and the cheese delivery truck. Lots of parts, photo etching and large assortment of decals. Looks like my list of must haves just grew a few.. Thanks for the insight Pat.. ?
  9. I wonder if the Village Accessories that comes in the kit are the items illustrated in the bed? Neat truck but it looks like she's blowing a little smoke..
  10. Nice grab. I don't remember the firdbird kit, kinda neat except for oversized rear spoiler.
  11. Yeah me too Carl.. Especially since its a gift. I'm glade I didn't have to buy a second kit to replace this one. Luck was on my side that day.
  12. Just I out of 173 kits from eBay shipped USPS not bad odds. Especially since the kit wasn't damaged.
  13. In the mailbox today. I was very shocked when I saw the box. It looked as if it had been crushed or took a good hit. Thankfully the kit wasn't compromised, not even a dent since It's a gift for my Dads mechanic who owns a '69 GTO.
  14. The past couple of days these two kit purchases showed up in the mail. The Firebird kit reminds me of a firebird redneck style, sorta like AMT Yankee Challenge kit. As for the Eldon. I had built one when they came out in '69. All I have left of that build is the engine with its golden pipes, the toilet seat and one tub that I cut and used as rubbish in a display scene which I named Garbeach for the garbage truck.
  15. Some of our grocery stores offer stamps at the cash register. Way more convenient than the dreaded post office visit.
  16. Awesome attitude Carl.. Keep the faith strong and enjoy everyday as it arises. I lost my mom 11 1/2 years ago. I'm 63 and I miss my mom everyday. But some day I will see her again. Guaranteed!! I believe you and the misses will do the same with your moms. ?
  17. It all sound so good! You can't beat southern cooking.. Last year my future son-in-law to be smoked a brisket instead of the traditional Turkey. Very tasty..not sure what's on the menu this year. But whatever it is I'm there with my belt loosened and mouth wide open.
  18. I had to look up bisto and hobnobs because I hadn't heard that term before. I guess they were a bit Miffed.. Lol definitely not what they were expecting. If you ever want to try the American gravy for biscuits.. Two tablespoons of bacon or sausage grease heated in a iron skillet with two tablespoons of flour. Mix well and slowly add and stir in two cups of milk until its at the consistency that you prefer. As for the biscuits.. Don't use the hobnobs. ?
  19. Yeah I'd like to know why Pillsbury doesn't make their original biscuits in a can anymore? Instead they come in a bag in the freezer section as TJ stated above. They do not have the exact same taste. I used the canned ones to make gravy and biscuits but the frozen bagged ones are not quite the same. So now I buy the Crescent rolls and reshape them into round biscuits. Taste the same as the original canned ones. We still have leftovers from our Thanksgiving day meal from my daughters dinner and yesterday we had a second but belated Thanksgiving day meal at my Aunts. She had a dish I hadn't had before that was pretty good, cracker gravy.. ? Don't worry Bill that you're out of Turkey and all the goodies that go along, It won't be long and you'll be having it again. That is unless you cook up another meat at Christmas.
  20. Sad that it has become that way. Not with just that topic. Know the truth, stand your grounds and stick to your Morales.
  21. Wow they pretty nice when built. Did you polish the bodies or is that their natural Sheen? and thank you for sharing your builds Dave..
  22. I'm hoping he will take interest at some point. I wasn't aware that the quick builds where like legos until the kit arrived. Hopefully this type of kit will bring more new builders to the hobby.
  23. Recent mailman deliveries. Two for me and the Bugatti for my 13 yr old grandson. I've been hoping he'll catch the model building bug for some time now. Hard to compete with electronics...? he likes cars..lol so there's still hope.
  24. My dad used those stove top percolators for years. I'm not a daily coffee drinker but I agree they have a way better taste. My dad is from the depression area so he trashes nothing. I found at least 8 old percolators in various stages of repairs that didn't work. Believe it or not he still has and uses an original toaster he and mom where given as a wedding present some 60 years ago.. He did repair the cord but he even half assed that.
  25. Since I'm here at IRK alley.. On my list of must haves is an Eldon Bathtub buggy. I built one as a kid and I always liked the car, weird as it is. I found one that was more than I wished to pay but was listed as a make an offer. I messaged the seller in the wee hours after midnight as to my interest and that I was going to make an offer of $xxx when the morning hours arrived. Reason being I use a pre-loaded cards to pay on the site and I had zip on a card to pay. I received a message from the seller that the amount I stated was "nice". My thought was they unofficially approve. After loading the account I was ready to make an official offer. I did so and sent it off. ⌛ the clock ran down and no answer as to an acceptance of the offer. I went back to the posted item and it was relisted cheaper but still above my offer. I know that a seller does not have to accept an offer but to not answer back and let the clock run out than repost it cheaper.. As much as I want this kit and I'm able to cough up the difference in price vs offer which is only $10. Different. It still just gets my britches in a bunch. Do I get the kit? Do I move on and hope for another time? I've got some thinking to do.. ?? As I was ready to submit this post I received a notification that the seller sent me a message.. It appears that this Irk was a mix up on multiple levels. Levels..lol that's an Irk just above.. The seller apparently was having a bad day with the site. My card info wasn't available for them to view to accept my offer and they didn't know how to react. They let the offer time limit run out and reposted the kit meanwhile sent me a message that they did so. ? only they had entered the wrong amount. After a message or two I bought the kit for the amount I originally offered. So it started out as an Irk but ended up not. But since it was a rollercoaster ride with a dose of irritation I'll leave at IRK alley and move on to next kit on my list..
