  1. Well the rat rod is back with a small update, most of the work was done on the engine as you can see from the pics i also added the window frame and wood planks to the bed these will have to be weatherd of course can't leave them clean in a rat rod. Any and all comments welcome.

    Wow i really like your hot rod with the 6 cyclinder you don't often see that. Nice clean build. I have one question how did you do the wood grain.

  6. Thanks guys i thought i would try a turbo i to have never seen this at any of the model car shows, next set of pics will be of the engine with lots more done and some of the cab interior with it's diamond plat floor, boy is it ugly.

Here are 2 pics of my 1929 Ford rat rod pickup, it has an overhead valve straight 8 which i streched from a 6 cyclinder a 4 speed trans and turbo, i streched the frame lowered the front and rear suspention cut the grille shell down and cut about 8 scale inches out of the back of the cab, i removed the bed floor because i will install a wood one. Lots more work to be done but i think it will be an interesting build, it's my first rat rod. All comments and ideas welcome.

Thanks guys, it is the Revell Baldwin Motion camaro and yes i agree it's a good kit, i messed up the white stripe at the rear of the car so i turned it into this and i have know problem putting a lot of work into a junker i like the extra details. I am not sure what color green i used but it was from Testors i am not shore if that helps if find the color i will let you know.

  11. Thanks for the comments guys after i add the last few details i will post better pictures of the engine and add front and rear shots. You think this car is in bad shape wait till you see the Mach 1 it's a real mess.

Here are a few pics of my Baldwin motion Camaro junker not finished yet but i am close, i messed up the decals so now it's a junk yard car it will be part of a diorama called the muscle car junkyard there will be at be at least 2 other cars a 1969 Mustang and maybe a Superbird. Any and all comments welcome.
  13. Nice work on your Charger it has the factory look. I have one question and this is not a nit pick is blue the correct color for the engine i am working on the same kit and i painted mine orange.
  14. Nice work on your 48 Chevy, i like the color and the engine details like the valve covers and that air cleaner really make it stand out.
  15. Wow that looks great, i like the different color hood it adds a lot of visual interest. I don't think i have ever seen a Merc rat rod but i like it.
  16. Nice work on your Ferrari it really looks good, for what Tamiya charges for their kits the decals and and the fit should be perfect.
  17. That is some of the most impressive model building i have seen in years the paint and decals look great and that engine is awsome.
  18. Great work on both Mustangs i have never seen one done as a stocker it looks very good that way, and the details on the street Mustang engine look very realistic.
  19. Thanks a lot everybody for all the positive comments, and yes i agree that the grill needs work i am going to give it a black wash that will help a little.

  21. Thanks, it would be fast in real life a 2,500 pound car with about 650 horse power that's a speeding ticket waiting to happen.
  22. Thanks Outlaw for the kind words, I got the engine out of the Polar Lights Holman & Moody kit the supercharger and scoop from the recent Revell 1968 Firebird kit.
  23. Thanks and i am no offended at all my models are never perfect if they were how could i improve them. I will have to use the one installed as it's glued in and can't be removed, it's a good idea that should take a bout 10 minutes to do.
  24. Thanks, i used the kit grill, and you are close on the fire wall it's a piece of thin tin or metal polished with several fine grades of sand paper.
