Range Rover Pro Street - or race, Pro Show....
Sully replied to Modellpularn's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hans, This is a very interesting consept, and one I like. In my opinion, if you are going wild with the Rover body, she just screams to be Injected....... will look real sweet with those stacks sticking thru the hood.......... Nice work so far....... Sully -
Neat lookin build Tom........... Your gonna put a Hemi in it................right !!!!!!!! Sully

This is my take on a what if......... A 1967 Impala sYc pro streeted. The paint is Dupli-Color, Electric Current Red with a satin clear on top. The engine is a 427 with a high rise intake and twin Holley carbs. I added a resin dist. from Morgan Automotive Detail, scratch built wire looms and battery cables . The chassis was made from the front half of the Impala and the rear half from the 67 Chevelle. Wheels from the parts box, tires from the Chevelle kit. Decals are from the parts box......... Hope you like the pics............. Sully

Hans, Thanks for the comments. I wish I could tell you where the hubcaps came from. I got these in a junk yard I won on e-bay. They do appear to be some sort of Caddy cap, but not sure. The center bullet is something I turned up on my lathe...... Sully

Thanks for all the comments guys.............. Bobby, The Machine Shop is open for now, but will close up for a few months this winter...........getting a knee replacement, so I won't be standing at the Lathe for awhile.......... Sully

Here's a few pics of the Revell '49 Merc. The paint is H.O.K. Tangelo Pearl shot over gloss white with Dupont clear. The purple flames are decals from the parts box. The interior is done in purple and white. I used the kit engine and added a resin dist. from Morgan Automotive Detail (Kris makes a killer cap if you have never seen them). The wire looms are scratch built. The bullets and the megaphone exhaust tips are stainless steel items that I turned up on my lathe. I also added the sunken rear plate and ant. Hope you like the pics............ Sully

George..........you think the 62 Dodge Dart was ugly ???????????? Me too !!!!!!!!! She was not one of Virgil Exner's finest. But...........when you dropped in a 413 Max Wedge, coupled to a four speed gear box, she could put a lot of fear in the competition. I have some stats here that says, equipted this way she could do 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds and 14.4 seconds in the quater mile. Not too shabby for 1962...... By the way........thanks for the good comments. Sully

A group pic sounds like a good idea. I'll be there from 6:00am until closing. I'm one of the judges, so I'll be tied up during the contest judging.......other than that, I'm open............ Sully

Nice job on building a sweet Hot Rod Ed............. It reminds me of something I would have seen running the street in my younger days.......... Sully
-
It started out as one of the Revell kits but was mostly kit bashed from the old parts box.........

Willy, That's what floor rights means. You pay the extra $10.00 and you may enter the show an hour before the general public. Hope to see you there and don't forget to look me up........ Sully

crispy, Thanks for the reference pics. Those are going to come in handy when I get around to doing the detail work. Len, The color is School Bus Yellow by Krylon, and was sprayed from a rattle can.

This is a resin kit from Modelhaus. I am going to build it as the Comet that Ronnie Cox drove. The chrome grill and bumpers are from the new Model King release of the old A.M.T. curb side kit. It fits on the Thunder Bolt chassis with some minor modifications. Will also have the 427 from the T-Bolt kit. Decals will be from Slixx........

Here's a few mock up pics of one that's been on my bench for awhile now. Hope to finish this one up over winter. She started out getting a few coats of red oxide primer........ Then I hit her with some Krylon School Bus Yellow..........Yup ! That's a Hemi going under the hood. Here she is with the detailed grill, and semi finished interior......... And last after adding her stripes.........decals are from Billy Gooche I still have a lot of detail work, and a few more decals to add before I can clear the body, but I hope to finish her up this year......

Thanks for the comments guys........ Can't enter it at our show Willy cause I'm a club member, but I just might bring it for display on the club table.

I built this one as a factory light weight. A Saturday night special. JoHann body and interior on a modified Lindberg chassis. The engine is from the Lindberg kit also.........
