ScaleSpeedShop replied to route66modeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Man I didn't get to meet ya at the show. But after checking out the stuff you got I know who you are for next year. I walked past that paint rack and was thinking about going back after it when I saw you with it. Oh well just like Ebay there will be another. I remember seeing you checking out the stuff I was selling also. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop -

ScaleSpeedShop replied to tabsscale1's topic in Contests and Shows
Todd, I also hope it turns out well. I was working on a AMT 32 Ford 5 window coupe for the show, but work got in the way and it isn't going to be ready. I may bring it up to show you my progress anyway. Ron -

Trouble on the spotlite board
ScaleSpeedShop replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think that Tom does an excellent job over on the Spotlight Hobbies Board. I have visited that board for well over 10 years and never once had a problem. Thanks for all your hard work Tom. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop -
57 Ford F-100
ScaleSpeedShop replied to ModelsR4me's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Check out www.modelhaus.com They make a 57 F-100 and a 57 Mercury pickup also. The 57 Ford is availble as a conversion kit for the AMT 53 Ford f-100 or it can be purchased as a full kit. The Mercury pickup is also a full kit. These kits are resin and the quality of Modelhaus kits is excellent. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop -
Yes Labor day is still the same after all these years. Bad thing is the closest place to buy a model is an hour away these days. In 1959 Dad would have been 12 he grew up on Alexander street over on the west side about 2-3 blocks south of where the Tornado cut across. Ron

Testors AMX Pro Street
ScaleSpeedShop replied to ScaleSpeedShop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thats what I was thinking Bill I just wasn't sure. And yes it does have some photo etch and some cast metal wheels with low profile tires. Thanks for your help. Ron -
This past summer a good portion of main street in Hoisington was replaced with concrete. It's alot smoother but it doesn't have that old small town feeling to it like the old bricks did. In 2001 the north west corner of town was struck by a f-4 tornado the devastation was terrible. Lost was the old grocery store, phamacy, the dairy queen and many homes. The storm was on the night of the senior prom. Luckily there was only 1 fatality in that storm. That section of town isn't the same. The homes are alot larger and I believe many people moved from ton rather than rebuild.Your right it is a small world. Ron@ ScaleSpeedShop

I have a unbuilt Testors AMX ProStreet kit #7403. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this kit, it looks like a rebox of the old Johan amx kit. Is this true or was this kit made by someone else.

ScaleSpeedShop replied to spkgibson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Are you still interested in trading this kit. If so let me know what you are looking for, I have around 1300 kits so I might have something that interests you. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop -

I have that same kit. From What I've seen at swap meets and on Ebay they will usually bring between $25.00 - $40.00 for a unbuilt complete example. This issue has some hod rod parts in it that were blocked off in the 1970's and not in later issues. Hope this helps. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop -
Looks like Mike has some good advice. Always clear first, I've seen some guys get very good results with scotch tape and a coat of clear.

How do YOU like your tires ?
ScaleSpeedShop replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I prefer Modelhaus resin tires to kit tires any day. Ron@ScaleSpeedShop
