Any word on a Revell 73 Mustang Mach 1?
Ken Hart replied to Dave Toups's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think a non-Bond Mach 1 kit with a full stripe package and the wheels, deck lid spoiler and front air dam from the Boss kit is probably inevitable, too. -

I might be wrong about this, and anyone who knows for certain can feel free to correct me if I am, but as I understand it, the Revell '29 Model A pickup and '31 Woody (along with the woody's '31 sedan sibling) are separate tools. The parts will interchange between the three kits, and the woody was the only one that ever had stock wheels. -

I don't see that happening for a couple of reasons, No. 1 being that Revell is fully aware that people will buy the kit just to get the bike. I expect to see tons of those kits at swap meets in the not-too-distant future with "No motorcycle" written on the box bottoms. No. 2 is that parts packs have historically been poor sellers for Revell, even back when they were new. As I recall, Revell had been planning to reissue the bikes, but opted not to after the engine parts packs tanked sales-wise. I hope Revell still has the Triumph and BSA tools as well. If they reissue them as kit add-ons, like they're doing with the Harley, I'll happily buy whatever kits they're in just to get the bikes. Here's hoping also that the aftermarket steps up with 3D-printed replacement wheels that have thinner, less toy-like spokes. -

I will be there. -
Is there anything else at all you'd be interested in for one of the Dodges?

I need the black "hockey stick" side stripe decals from the Revell '71 Boss 351. Please PM me if you have a set you don't plan to use. Thanks.

I think I'd like to jump in on this. I just got the new issue a couple of weeks ago. I have some ideas, but I'm not sure where I'm going with it yet.

Revell 1971 Boss 351.... Special Order "Bright Orange"
Ken Hart replied to DanL's topic in Model Cars
Very nice. The color looks fairly close to Ford's Calypso Coral. There were three Boss 351s built in the color. -
I think it's also the best wheel/tire package for a fenderless rod in the '32 series. In my opinion, highboys look best with tall tires out back. As nice as they are, the Goodyear Sports Car Specials in the other Deuce kits don't quite cut it in that regard.

Revell 1971 Mustang Mach 1 in stock now at...
Ken Hart replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here's what I plan to with mine. I'll use the Magnums from the Boss 351 and I've procured an extra set of black side stripes. Then I'll use the wheels from the Mach 1 to build the middle car in the second pic. I will happily buy every kit Revell produces from this tooling. I'm looking forward to the Eleanor version. It's my understanding that four different versions were under consideration when Revell made the decision to produce the tooling; I wonder what the fourth one might be? -
This one was apparently just announced. The eight-lug wheels and Grand Prix grill are great additions to an excellent kit.

I'm actually quite excited about the Caddy ambulance. It looks like Round 2 went the extra mile to make it possible to build the ECTO-1A as a stock ambulance. And the decal sheet had markings to build it as several different "City of Troy" rigs, which is a nice nod to the original AMT.
