  2. Only the stickers are missing:
  3. Saw a program on the telly the other night, where they drove a bunch of these to a place in northern Siberia. So I had to get me the kit. I had no idea they are that hard to come by.
  4. Yeah, but we aren't. So how about an extra section for 1/18 diecasts?
  5. I just lost my will to ever build another model.
  6. Look, look, they use a hyphen, too! According to DoubleD this means they are "for" built garages. As opposed to what? Planned garages?
  7. Let's keep polishing a turd:
  8. I have been into 1:18 scale diecasts for quite a while now. I suggest to open an extra section for them, like there is already for for big scale, trucks, etc.
  9. Spielberg's reflection can be seen in the telephone booth when Dennis Weaver's character calls the police. Allegedly there are 18 more occurrences where his reflection can be seen, but none of them were intentional. It happened when they changed the aspect ratio from the TV to the theatrical release.
  10. What if it was built by a pro when he was eight years old?
  11. I guess in this pro-fession we all develop the same sense of humour after a while. We need it just to cope I think. But what is an 'undertaker laugh'?
  12. It depends, sometimes I'm pretty anti-burial and anti-cremation. For example, if work comes in on a Friday late afternoon, I tend to put it on ice until Monday morning.
  13. You made a Custom two-door sedan out of it? I don't even WANT to know how much effort that was.
  14. LOL, you got a point there. Still, trying to qualify what is nothing more than a built kit off as something extraordinary is a tad shifty. I'm fully aware that the often used term 'pro-built' has no real meaning, but there are models on Ebay labelled as 'pro-built' which are indeed superb and usually the builder's name is mentioned.
  15. The cars aren't 'floored' around the track, they must be controlled. If you just 'floor' it, they do fly off and you can see this happening in the video. 'Driving' these cars around the track is one of the most challenging tests for your reflexes and fine movements and there is absolutely zero room for mistakes.
  16. Not sure what you are trying to read into my post, but you sure didn't get it.
  17. If it is, I do. Recently sold a car on Ebay, a right old heap. Made it absolutely clear that it's total rubbish and that any potential buyer must be not right in his mind. I had 12000 watchers, the ad was on hundreds of car forums all over the web and I was bombarded with funny questions. The whole thing was so successful that I will never ever again advertise anything as being not total rubbish.
  18. I had one of those 'wing' cars when I was still living in Munich around 1980. The FMS (Fast Munich Slotters) club track was not dissimilar to the one in the video. It was 47 metres long and my personal lap record was 1.32 seconds (ca. 80mph average). I never really raced it in an event, because I was too slow and the running cost in real competition was considerable. Those wing cars are genuinely high-tech. What I really enjoyed was the 'replica stock' class. The rules said you could run anything, but you must prove that the real car existed. Mine was a model of Billy Hagan's Camaro that he entered in the 1982 Le Mans 24h. Replica stock was of course much slower and raced on a different track with scenery and tighter corners. There was an annual 24h of Munich slot car race, which of course was a cultural event (in Munich this means beer is served).
  19. I'm a professional funeral director. I should start advertising my services as pro-burials and pro-cremations.
  20. I take a book with me when there is waiting to be expected. Also on a train. Books are those ancient obsolete ROMs on cellulose basis.
  21. Serious question: Don't you have to sand off the vinyl texture of the Revell Charger?
