  1. Well done!
  2. I recently ordered Scalefinishes engine enamel. It’s not good stuff. It stays tacky for several days. I was disappointed, based on how good their lacquer base is.
  3. I like MCW and Scalefinishes “Lacquer”, for base coat. I’ve been decanting Testors lacquer gloss clear, as I have a healthy supply I bought before they discontinued it. (At least, nobody around me carries it) I’ve decanted Tamiya semi gloss black I bought in aerosol cans. I use it on chassis parts and anything else i want to finish in semi gloss black. I’ve used testors square bottle enamel, thinned 100%, but it takes forever to dry, and the finish isn’t that great. I like Alclad for metal parts and the Alclad chrome is awesome, as well.
  4. I have the interior wrapped up, minus the dash tach. I’m going to pin it in place, so I don’t foul up my dash paint.
  5. Carbs and engine wiring
  6. My Fireball model works carbs and Cragar mags showed up. Excellent product, as per usual. I started wiring the HEMI and shot some Alclad “chrome” on the wheels. the tires are from my stash.
  7. I have the car in color, cleared, polished and fouled.
  8. Working on getting the interior together. I used embossing powder for the carpet. I need to bash a set of A100 seats from another kit, but I haven’t cracked the donor kit, yet. I hate doing that, but it will likely be my next move.
  9. Nice foil work!
  10. Great project! FYI, Buick guys love it when you say, “nice Chevelle”. ? I usually follow that up with “Wow! That wrap looks great”
  11. Thanks, Tubbs. I appreciate the info. ?
  12. Cleveland Ohio ?????????
  13. I decided to try some acrylic paints and some “dry brushing” to weather the bottom and engine compartment. I’m attempting to replicate a nice driver type car Here’s my attempt:
  14. I’ve also been working on the front and rear brightwork. I still have work to do on the rear, but I’m getting there.
  15. Here’s the body in surfacing primer. I thinned Tamiya and Sprayed it with an Paasche H brush. Lots of detail sanding to go.
  16. I haven’t updated this in a bit, but I have been working on the project. here’s the dash: I decided to foil the entire dash, and then black out the areas around the “trim”. I don’t know how you could fool this dash after paint. IMO, it has way too many details. the steering wheel was tricky for me, as well. I could fool it with any reasonably accurate results. I gave it a couple shots. I decided to shoot the wheel gloss black, then shoot it with Alclad “chrome”, and lastly, re-blacked the Ri and other areas that weren’t chrome on the 1:1 examples. Anyhow, here is my attempt.
  17. I’m using Scale Finishes 1967 Chrysler silver.
  18. Thanks a bunch. those are much more accurate pics than the current version of the car.
  19. I feel the same way about the new labels.
  20. I Shot some Alclad this evening. this is an exhaust I made for my Silver Bullet GTX folly. the pipes are “magnesium” and the mufflers are “aluminum”. I washed it with a little black panel line . I’m fairly happy with it, but I’m sure I’ll get better results as I work with the product more.
  21. I shot the exhaust with Alclad, today. I used “Magnesium” on the pipes and Aluminum on the mufflers. I used some Tamiya panel line black to wash it a bit. it’s not done, but I like the way it’s turning out
  22. No price on the cap. its the last bottle that was still good from my childhood. My model building years were late 70’s until around 84ish.
  23. A little more detailing on the exhaust pipes. I made the crossover and fitted it up. my Alclad should be here tomorrow. I’m looking forward to experimenting with it on this project. ?
