  1. body has been primed and wet sanded with 2000 grit sand paper, ready for base coat
  2. sorry to bump an older topic but id like to here some advise i have an option to buy a slightly used anycubic photon M3, with some additional equipment (rotating table and a UV lamp-"Not a wash & cure station"),and it also comes with 2 resin bottels. on the other side i can get the phrozen sonic mini 8kS for brand new for 50$ more, without extras. What do you guys think?
  3. Started this one just after i finished the super stoker monte Carlo, this kit surprised me for the better, really nice details, all separate parts (frame, floor pan, lots of engine details) and fir isn't too bad too. started with the frame and interior now that's its done i''l move on to the body, which will be painted MCW enamel metallic citrus green
  4. these two has separate threads in the "on the work bench" forums, but since the intention was to mate them for display I'm posting the finished pair here
  5. Almost done, decals and maybe some dirt and dust
  6. so moving on with the build, the frame is all done and i painted the body, now waiting for it to fully dry before clear
  7. Last week i finished the "Racer wedge" truck, see here: So it need a car to haul... I chose the mpc super stocker monte carlo, cause i like the car (also got a "standard 70 annual amt one to build as a road car) old kit, not too many details but not terrible, i guess it can be made presentable. so far i finished the frame, roll cage and the wheels, will paint the body tomorrow.
  8. it's basically done, i'll add some accessories once i finish the car that will be on the ramp (will open a thread in the cars wip)
  9. Added some black wash to the grill, detailed painted and decals applied (still need to to the other side of the ramp) Also aligned the ramp better by adding some plastic strips on the frame, i think it came out pretty good
  10. Moving on, cleared (although clear coat was never my best skill), glass and interior tub assembled, grill assembled - turned out better the i excepted. cab and ramp mocked up on frame, no major issues so far, i think i need to raise the ramp a bit to line up with the cab
  11. engine done and attached in place, interior tub also done. next will be clearing the body, assembly, decals and some more detail painting. the grill on this model is quite bad i know it will give me griefs...
  12. Green was selected, the cab interior is painted in a non metallic green i found in my paints, seats and other details will be hand painted in different colors.
  13. So i started working on the MPC 72 Chevy "Racersa Wedge", kit is quite basic but ok. engine is quite nicely detailed. had a badly warped hood, so i tried to fix it with some heat and clamping to a straight surface, which helped a little. main body and the ramp are primed with surfacer 1200, still debating on a color. I'm thinking either metallic lime green or yellow. chassis is painted and other small bits and pieces are in the process.
  14. I wont be worth to deal with all the regulation and costs for sending 1-3 cans, but since i understand i can decant the paint and it will hold up well, i might do that
  15. you cant ship aerosols internationally as a privet person at least
  16. i want to buy some paint, only available in spray while I'm on a us visit. thing is yo cant bring spray paint on a plane, neither in your hand or checked luggage. so i was thinking...i can decant the paint into jars and take it like this, will it last just as "non spray" paint in the jars?
  17. just polish or i'll need to wetsand too?
  18. So i sprayed the clearcoat today, several coats. im not good at spraying clear, got a lot of orange peel that i'll need to think how to deal with.
  19. I like to build simple kits from time as a pause from the more involved and complicated kits, i picked the Tamiya 1988 Porsche 911 turbo some time ago and decided to start it few days ago. this is a very simple kit with very low parts count, actually i think this was a snap together kit when it first came out, nevertheless the fit is excellent and i always wanted to build this iconic car. i started with priming all the parts with gray primer. the suspension and tub were then shot with semi gloss black as well as the dash steering wheel and few other small parts. the underside and the body were sprayed with orange paint. and the engine+ gearbox (only the bottom part is molded as part of the underside) ware painted with metallic as well as the exhaust system. the seats were paint with my own mix to try and simulate a brownish leather, and then satin varnished and washed with brown oil wash. the wheel centers were painted gloss black. assembly was easy and now i'm waiting for the body to dry for couple of days before moving on to clear and the next steps.
  20. so i finally got my decals from revell, i actually needed just a couple for the dashboard. so i finished up the interior and assembled the rest. fitting the body over the chassis was difficult and I'm sure i added few scratches to the paint in the process , also something didn't fit very good under the hood so i didn't use the air filter, this one will be a curbside model. all in all im quit pleased with the result. the bumpers were painted using molotow marker and they look better in reality then in the photos.
  21. Applied some clear coat as base for decals and started to apply the body decals
  22. Waiting for the decals doesn't prevents painting the body...it's my first time using Zero paints. hope it comes out good. I used their primer few days ago and today sprayed the le manse blue base coat, it looks i left some scratches on the roof but other than that I'm pleased, nice and easy paint to work with.
  23. Thanks Paul, im not looking to buy lots of models, more to visit shows, events etc...(for real cars too)
  24. Well, Revell (Germany) just sent me an e-mail saying they'll send me the decal sheet for the kit for free, but it'll take like 3 weeks so i guess i'll put the Camaro aside while waiting. really good customer service!
  25. Got this kit from a friend, missing some of the decals unfortunately (dash, seatbelts and other interior decals) so I'll the best I can without them. so far i almost finished the lower half with engine, headers and mufflers installed, the body is primed need to be sanded and then base coated and cleared. going to use zero paints le manse blue as per the original. also working on the interior which will be my own interpretation for blue on blue (this means i used whatever blue i had on the shelf ?)
