  1. Although not 100% Accurate as the 109 was only used as a support vehicle for the Camel Trophy, i decided to build a "What If" version, simply because the revell Land Rover is available and is quite good kit. The build started with the engine and chassis, built box stock. the seats and rear benches and few other parts were also assembled and painted semi gloss black or other shades of black for some variation. cant progress with the body as I'm waiting for the "Sandglow" paint to arrive from Gravity paints of spain, so i designed and printed some accessories for the build First, a roof rack Next, stuff to put on the roof rack, and headlight guards still need to print a winch, and maybe few more bits and pieces To be Continued...
  2. cool!, Working on the same model now, but going to build it as a camel trophy rig (although i know series III were never actually in the camel trophy)
  3. it's my understanding that the stranger things blazer is a genuine replica of an Indiana sheriff car. does anyone know the GM paint names to use?
  4. what would be a good color choice (in Tamiya or mr hobby) to build it box stock? chat gpt says XF-57 for the beige and XF-10 for the brown, but im not sure how accurate that will be
  5. Magnificent! 👌
  6. finished and posted in "Under glass"
  7. Finished this 39 Chevy gasser today, as usual i used some 3D printed parts for the gasser conversion. some are Scale speed garage item and some are my own design. it's my first gasser model and also first time i try to print my own decals, they are a bit on the thick side, but i didn't know how they would react to decal setting solution so i left them like this. all in all I'm quit pleased with the results.
  8. Absolutely fantastic work!, i think i went over this thread 2-3 time to "take it all in" I'm interested in your decal technique, can you explain it a bit? if i understand correctly, you print an black outline text on a Clear sheet, then fill in the lettering with paint or gold leaf, and apply another clear decal with the outline printed in black? i need to make decals for my gasser project and looking for ideas. i printed them on paper just for mockup Thanks
  9. I printed some mock up decals i made in inkscape, now to see if 'll be able to make them with decal paper...any tips? i'll also use some sponsor decals i got from other kits here and there
  10. how about the "higher" quality graffiti sprays like MNT 84 or Montana gold, will they be better than rustoleum? just wondering because where i live i cant get Tamiya sprays but cant get those graffiti spryas and they have a wide color selection
  11. few more touch ups and shell be done, mostly making labels or trying to find some in the parts box. the tail lights were missing from the box so i need to what to do about thats
  12. looks quite close, not sure if the AMC color is metallic also though
  13. As the title says, i'm looking for a Tamiya/mr hobby/other brands color that is close to the AMC 7E oak leaf brown paint. for a Golden eagle Jeep i plan to build. Thanks Eran
  14. things are moving slowly, basically waiting for primer coats and paint coats to dry foe several days. before i can start putting things together. so the body is now drying after few coats of gold paint just for fun i added an electric fan to the radiator
  15. If i understood correctly the Unicolor printer uses both a true white and a true black toners
  16. I've kind of researched this subject lately, trying to figure out a way to overcome the short comings of "Home" decal printing (transparent inks, no white..) since all the "Old" solutions like Alps or Oki printers are really old by now. so i came across what seems like quite expensive solution although it can still be affordable lets say for maybe a group of builders who want to share a printer. it's an American company called Uninet and the printer model is Icolor560. there are some videos on YouTube of guys producing excellent looking water slide decals with it (for diecasts).
  17. few more small steps, engine finished and in the frame, rear axle attached and drive shaft done, body in primer
  18. just a small update, slowly working on small parts and sub assemblies. Engine mostly done and painted, still need to add plug wires etc.. making and painting tiny parts, slip and drive yokes, steering box, distributor, tie rods painted and assembled the wheels the frame is also painted, front spindles and drums attached (the are actually pinned so i might make them posable)
  19. thanks, i might put them on cults, ill post here if i do
  20. i was able to buy the old monogram 39 Chevy coupe, what a nice piece of kit!, i will be building it as a Gasser, inspired by many photos on the web. suspension parts, wheels and tires are 3D printed (some from Scale Speed Garage and some of my own design) I will use the Kit's engine as it's quit good, but will add a set of printed Gasser headers. i started by removing the molded mufflers and gas tank from the frame, than added the front and rear leaf springs and front axle (all 3d parts) also primed few more parts and painted the underside of the body flat black. haven't decided on body color yet, might be gold or orange
  21. Thanks, the color is Mr Color Super metallic copper
  22. Finished and posted in Under Glass
  23. Finished this one today, happy with the result, it's an excellent kit! i only goofed the rear window with some super glue fumes
