  1. The Cunningham legacy is an amazing one. I have the Fisher kit, not built yet. I was thrilled when Brian Redman decided to have the Cunningham cars as the featured marque for his Jeff 500. Any contact info for Don at Modelhaus?
  2. Gary, is there any chance of purchasing this from you?.. PM me if you like.
  3. I can't seem to find this car. I'm amazed there doesn't seem to be a kit, die-cast, 3D printed or anything else available anywhere. I want to model this car... I'm not familiar enough with Cadillacs to know what else i can start with and modify such as a 1949 or 1951. Any thoughts from the experts?
  4. Gorgeous job on that black paint, well done. To make your build more accurate and unique, so many other builds are missing the New Zealand Silver Fern on the right fender. And the wheels...
  5. Can't wait to see this finished, those wire wheels are amazing.
  6. Thanks Gary, after looking at the drawings, I'm really wishing someone would 3D print it....
  7. HA !!! Loving the idea of starting with a fire truck. 1000x's better than starting from scratch !! Thanks bunches...
  8. I need this in 1/24 scale. Resin, plastic, 3D printed, maybe even paper mache. It is a Fiat 640 truck. Even a kit with cab and chassis I could convert or add to I just think it would look great up on the shelf. Made in other scales, I can't find anything like it or similar in 1/24 scale, any thoughts? You 3D printer guys could really fill a niche......
  9. As I said, stunning work Pierre. Since CLEARLY you are the master of the brush, I would suggest looking to other masters who have weathered with brush... Doesn't seem to be too much brake dust to worry about but bug and road splatters are there for sure. For the windshield I would pick you favorite bug color and thin so it is transparent. The car I would start with your silver darkened slightly and also transparent. Stipple both with a small fine sponge or little brush. Build up opacity as you see fit. Hope this helps, best of luck. Of course test out on spare windshields and bodies.
  10. Beautiful, beautiful amazing work. What octane gasoline will you use in this?
  11. I went to the spotmodel site and was shocked. Out of 97 photo etch wiper sets, they only had 13 available....and none are the pantograph. Thanks Steve. All out of stock and none the pantograph.
  12. I don't know why this is so difficult for me to track down. Does anyone have a good source for pantograph wipers and racing seatbelt hardware in 1/24 scale? The little photo-etch sheet Paul included in his kits was PERFECT, that's what I'm looking for. Any thoughts?
  13. Thanks for Gallimods, only an hour away.
  14. Hi Rob, Good to hear from you again. I also prefer the olde Heller kit, what ever shapemissues there are can fixed. I'm surprised Fujimi got this wrong. They redid the Cobra and I still think the old Monogram is better. Just my 2cents. Have you finished any 917s yet, pics please.....
  15. Beautiful job on that Porsche Mark, glad you went with the headlights and not covered over. One of my all-time favorites. I did a painting of that car posted in the "Auto Art" forum.
  16. This is some of the most amazing modeling I've seen.
  17. Beautiful job. I can't imagine building ye olde Heller with regular glue, super-glue makes the rear buildable. I have a couple of trans-kits for the 917 and noticed the Fujimi is much wider than the Heller, who is correct?
  18. Beautiful job Pierre. Love the not red and those wonderful wheels/tires. I, on the other hand, will take the lesser mans way out and start with the Italeri kit.
  19. Not to highjack the thread but if Mark wants to off the decals he has to someone, this is mine in 1/24 using most of the IPMS Convention sheet and the old UMi humps n bumps. Highly recommended.
  20. Thanks all for the kind words, glad you like the Cobras. I didn't intend to bring my brother into it but as I'm writing the post it occurred to me I should not be looking at them at all, they should still be on his shelf where he kept them so he could see them while working on his computer. But I guess if one person pay attention to this and gets the PSA thing going then I guess it's worth it. Thanks again all.
  21. This will be a "Public Service Announcement" cautionary tale as well. I built these for my younger brother about 20 years ago because he was a big Ford fan, hence no weathering as he liked them "clean". He built his own Factory Five Cobra. I've spent the last week restoring these as they had several battles with his cleaning lady. I started with the Monogram 427 kit and made the corrections needed to get a Shelby 289. I slit the nose and moved up the oil cooler duct and vac formed the brake ducts from a wood master. Re-scribed the doors and found the other bits from the spares box. Tires are my own resin castings of the Fujimi tires. This is the car as driven by Tom Payne and Ray Cuomo at the Road America 500, Sept. 5, 1965. 6th OA. I have no idea why I forgot seat belts but will add those now. I built the Daytona for him starting with the Gunze Sangyo kit. I corrected the odd shaped nose. My own vac formed glass areas and my own resin tires again. There was some odd brownish liquid spilled on the left rear that I managed to get most of it off. Great kit but for the too short wheel base. I have the "Scale Motorsport" resin kit in the stash I will build someday. This is the car as driven by Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant in the 1964 24hrs of LeMans. The cautionary tale part. These came back to me a few years ago while we packed up his house after he died from stage 4 prostate cancer. He was 57 years old. A totally treatable, beatable cancer IF detected early enough for treatments. He was on a business trip out west and couldn't piss. He went to the emergency room and after examination, they told him he better get home. He called me first thing and told me to get my a$$ to the doctor to find out my PSA level, and I did. Everybody here, ALL of us, should know their PSA level. It's a simple blood test that should be done along with your annual physical. 8 out of 10 of us here will get prostate cancer. Might not be what gets us, but we will get it. My PSA levels started to rise after a couple of years, we biopsied my prostate and I had the beginnings of cancer. BUT...because it was in its early stages, I was treated and I'm alive today. My new favorite word, after treatments and testing is "Benign". Life is short people. My brothers passing was totally preventable. Take care of yourselves and enjoy every build we have left.
  22. Great job on that Lola, looks nothing like mine. Indycals are the best, aren't they?
