Well I'm waiting on decals for one build, it's too windy outside to work on the 1:1 race car, so why not start another build while I'm on a roll? Combining a Salvinos Flat Nose Monte with some Monogram DW '83 Pepsi decals to build the Monte he ran occasionally in 1983, like at Rockingham, where I first saw it in a YouTube video. Time for bodywork and paint! I'll photocopy the decals to get an idea where to mask.

I sent them an email. Hoping it's something silly I overlooked. They're the only vendor of this decal and I really want to finish it.

I'm working on a build that required a decal sheet that came from a specialty vendor, that came as a sheet of the white parts and backgrounds, and a sheet of the colored parts. The white looked like it was printed on a clear sheet, and is very, very delicate. After ruining two of them I stopped. These are nothing like a kit-based set or Powerslides. Do I need to seal them first to protect them, and if so, with what? I ordered another set in the meantime, because I'm determined to finish it. They were from Slotcar Fever, if anyone has experience or tips I'd be grateful. These weren't even on my radar when I last built 25 years ago.

Thanks! It was sold as the "Thunderbird Legends Combo" around 1997, came with two kits and decals for this and Neil Bonnetts #21 Hogdon car. It's been a fun build, standard Banjo Matthews chassis like all the Ford kits, and the body is pretty decent. I have another, plus Revell sold an Earnhardt Wrangler version in 1998.

My other set was no better; I'm putting them under a UV light I used to use to whiten old Tonka parts to see if they lighten up. In the meantime I'm calling it done. It felt good just to complete one. The last model I started on was in 2000, the last one I ever completed was in 1995, so this is a big deal for me. Posting it over in Under Glass. Thank you all for the help!

Well, I had an issue with windows and trim on the Ford, so while I await some Bare Metal Foil, I assembled the Pontiac chassis. It fought me the whole way, it was warped more than I thought. I think it'll be good enough. I test fit the body to see how it looks, the hood doesn't quite fit right, but worst case I'll display it propped open. It was after that I decided to paint the rest of the cowl black. Next up is foil, decals, bumpers, and done.

1972 Mercury Montego GT master for casting

Like it? I LOVE it! Mine had the same wheels, Gold Glow with a black vinyl top, ginger interior, and buckets with a console. 351CJ car, no stripe. Was this a resin kit or scratch built? I would love to find a body and wheels to recreate mine!
